Strolling on Riverwalk

Sit on the metal bench and enjoy the green view or sit on the wooden bench and enjoy the water and palms, they are across from each other on each side of the sidewalk

We chose to WALK, and of course I chose to SNAP photos of unsuspecting walkers in front of us. This Riverwalk park is an oasis in the middle of our traffic problems

Just in case you think what a peaceful little town we live in, below is that bridge you see at rush hour. Photos from Bradenton Herald articles about our traffic problem. Traffic is the reason we go at sunrise on Sat/Sunday.. the traffic below is on top of the bridges we walk under, the skateboard park is under the bridge you see here and below

our largest hospital is right under that green sign to the right

Oh, my! Traffic is such a problem everywhere! The only place I know there isn't a traffic situation is where we are going today! Mart, Texas!
I've never seen a traffic jam there! Only one Main Street and not many people! Waco is the closest 'big' town and the locals THINK they have traffic situations! They don't. Not when you compare them to Dallas, Houston or YOUR part of Florida!
So that's why you and Bob get up so early! Good reason!

Oh my GOSH! It 's a huge curved bridge shaped like a roller coaster. Forget the traffic, I wouldn't want to get on it at ALL! I have recurrent nightmares about being on a road just like this. Is this on the way to the Y? Is there anywhere you can go without going on the bridge? What about the Riverwalk? Riverwalk is gorgeous, and has everything. I love the cool aqua awnings, and the unusual wooden bench.

P.S. The only bridge worse then this one is those stupid swinging bridges. But people don't have to go on those, like they do this one.

That's a beautiful park but oh, the traffic is horrible.
Even in our tiny little town, weekend traffic a nightmare due to tourist areas north of us - we stay home!

The traffic looks bad... In direct contrast to your beautiful walkway... Have a beautiful day !

Hello Sandra, the riverwalk does look like a nice place for an early morning or evening walk. The traffic does look bad but the beltway in Baltimore and the one in the Wash DC area is just as bad. There are just way too many vehicles. Hubby and I usually leave early to avoid traffic. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

You have such a beautiful park! And your photos make me feel like I am there! Oh that traffic! We have one 4-way stop here in our small town!

Hoping my comment will publish...having problems with googely again.

Your park is beautiful and a nice place to sit and gaze at the scenes or walk. But, oh, that traffic! I have always loved driving, but the older I get, the less I want to be in a lot of traffic. Our son who lives in KC is always saying we never come to visit much, but the traffic is the reason why! Our small, quiet little town doesn't have a lot of traffic and I'm beginning to appreciate it more and more after years of thinking it was pretty boring around here. ha!

One of the few things I do NOT miss about living in Austin is the traffic...but your riverwalk looks very enticing!

The first few pictures look so relaxing, but all that traffic would drive me crazy.

This is exactly why I take the back-roads to and from work ... a bit more time-consuming, but I don't arrive vibrating, gritting my teeth.

These restful Riverwalk images sure belie their proximity to the chaos!

I'm so glad you have that River Walk. Peaceful and lovely away from the traffic. I used to get so excited as a child, when we would drive down to the gulf. and I would spy a palm tree and catch a whiff of the ocean breeze.

That traffic is terrible everywhere outside where we live. That is why we chose to move from city.

Yesterday to Surgeon we hit the traffic too. So we slid in and had a nice lunch for an hour for peace.

I am finished with my new knee and file is now closed. Success. Surgeon put in my hand to take to his office an envelope to his Secretary across from the Hospital. That puts me on the list and when an opening comes. I get a call. A long wait but I am also on cancelled list as well.
I wrote on Face book a comment about your Bob.

Have a nice weekend. We have those benches and the lake. Beats the hustle and bustle of Traffic annoyance. Now sweet serene when it is sunny like Yesterday was a wonderful Summer day.
Your pictures are beautiful and clear. Thank you for sharing all.
