Ringling Bunja

We stopped for a quick hotdog and fries in the café, then headed down the beautiful walkway to see the Ca Da Zan house. We noticed several people stopped reading a sign and laughing.

Caution, falling pine cones. this area roped off for your safety. Large cones from the Burya Pine may fall without warning.
Well, DUH, only in America do they warn these things

They moved about 30 feet down and we watched as they stared at a tree, then the security guy stopped and they were pointing and talking. We waited until the coast was clear. You can see what a glorious day it was with all the sun and shadows

and moved on to find the Banyan tree is holding one of the 257 statues hostage. It has grown up around it and to remove it would harm the tree. I mentioned how much we loved all the acres of banyan trees and he said all of them come from only 13 trees planted by John Ringling almost 100 years ago.

Oh my gosh! This really tickles me! It reminds me of the scary movies where someone gets trapped in a tree, like "The Watcher In The Woods". I like the statues much better in the trees! It takes it to a while different level of art, both man made and nature together. My next favorite is the beautiful row of Banyan Trees, with their shadows on the path. We do not have these trees anywhere around here, so I have never seen a real one. The one has a limb growing clear across the path!

Hello, it is nice they warn people about falling over the pine cones. Were they that big? The statues held prisoner look cool. Love the trees and your photos. Have a great day!

I wonder what a pinecone hitting your head would feel like...I had a huge Granny Smith apple hit me in the head one time and it made me see stars!

I LOVE those trees!

Is the guest room ready for me yet. Oh my word Sandra every single post about this glorious visit has me itching for a road trip. BUT it will be in the winter LOL

As for today's post I would not wear any of them either but I did like some a lot for years gone by. I haven't worn a dress since 2011. LOL
And when I worked I only wore dresses in spring and summer. They were all below the knee or longer NO HOSE OR PANTYHOSE For this gal!!

Clothes we see in the mall windows when we wall are all throw backs to the 70's currently lots of bell bottom sleeves and puff. I don't wear anything tight on any part of my body. Have you looked in JCP catalog or online.
I buy must of my pants (Alfred Dunner ) from them and they have nice normal tops in the store
Hugs Cecilia

Oh how funny! It reminded me of a walk I took at the lake when I could swear squirrels were throwing acorns at me because every step I could hear one landing behind me. The statue reminds me of headstones I have seen in cemeteries that have been overtaken by a well meaning person's placement of a bush or tree...but years and years later, they don't realize the tree will bury the headstone. Have a wonderful day!

I was amazed at all the banyan trees in Hawaii!! They're huge! Love the statue taken hostage. Oh ya...only in America. I was just telling Bud this morning about a sign at the park on the river...there is a crosswalk on the park road...you walk, naturally. But when the walk ends at the river bank, there is a sign "SIDEWALK ENDS HERE". Duh.

Beautiful day indeed.

Oh wow the statue in the tree is quite something. Those must be some big pine cones if they warn you that they might fall on you.

You have the most interesting trees in Florida. The one growing around the statue is amazing. I'm glad you had such a fun day, makes me think I should get out more.....
