How Do You View

I want to change the look and feel of my blog but if I do, all the 3024 post will change and not look like they did when i created them. I created around the black theme. That  will change the look.
I considered starting a new blog with a new look. But then there is the change over of followers.

I played with colors and other things and when I noticed the two views in dashboard above, one is desktop the other mobile. I have seen it all the years I have blogged but have never looked at my blog on my phone.

I viewed all devices and found the mobile was very hard to read. Poking around I discovered I could leave my blog like it is and make the phone custom by clickon the little wheel under the mobile view and now my phone view has a white background for easier viewing.

I also found that on phones, the tabs do not show, the side bar doesn't show which means all the work is useless if most people view on phones. Below, see the tabs? and you can see the side bar with links to my other blogs. This view shows on all devices except the phone. I have wondered often why no one looks at the pages, and now I think I know why. Pages were created back before Mobiles.

Do you read blogs on Phone, Tablet, Laptop or Desk Top? I sat here working on my blog, and decided to lay tablet and phone beside desk top, which is what I prefer when creating a post.  Let me know if you are viewing this on phone if it is easier to read please.

I don't use my phone for viewing blogs. I use either my tablet or my desktop. The phone is just too small to read from for me. When I write my posts, I only use the desktop. It's just easier because that's where all my pictures are and where I edit them to get them ready to post.
Also for viewing, I sometimes read posts in feedly rather than the actual blog. I have a very hard time reading white on black background. It does a number on my eyes. So for yours I read in feedly then come to your blog to post my comment

I prefer my laptop for blogging.

Interesting. I'll check your blog on my phone when i get up. Right now it's still dark, freezing cold, and I'm under the warm blankets, reading this on my kindle.:-) But I do often read blogs on my phone. Phone or kindle is much easier on a touchy back which doesn't appreciate being stuck at a desk.

Ok, got my coffee and phone. Your blog is easy to read on my phone, but of course the sidebar and tabs don't show.

I don't use a phone app. I have my page tagged to view comments.
I work 99% of the time on my laptop with two monitors set-up. Something to do with fifty+ years at an office desk somewhere I suppose.
I find phones and tablets limiting and confining. And yet I do love them for many many reasons. Just not desktop publishing. (played Strawberry Shortcake for an hour last night on my Kindle. Yes Strawberry Shortcake. My five yr old granddaughter got me hooked over Christmas)
And I hope one of my former English teachers isn't reading this comment. There are too many sentences beginning with 'I'.
Enough of me.

99.9% of the time I read and comment on blogs from my desktop. Once in a blue moon I'll use my iPad. Never my phone...but I'm sure I could.

I can read this fine

On the couch, as usual. i never do blogs or e-mail on the phone. Because when I am out, I am too busy. And I want to enjoy just being OUT of the house. But you are a genius! Now, as to you changing the look of your blog, so what if it makes the past blogs white? No big deal to me. BUT what is this about a changeover of followers? If you change the color background, then do you have to re-populate them? There is no device you cannot work, and just instinctively. I LOVE your new 2018 header! And what it says, and everything about it! You are so far ahead of me, and of most of us! But you are such a sweetheart for teaching us all! Savvy Sandra!! Mercifully, merrily Mad and loving every minute of it! WHAT would I do without YOU in my life. I LOVE you!

Good morning, Sandra! I only use my desktop for blogging unless I am traveling. The phone is too tiny, my laptop or ipad is used while traveling. I have no problems with reading your post. I tried to change to a new theme and found out I could not use the linky for my critter party, so I had to change it back. I would not start a new blog, you would loose the followers. But they could come back once they find you. I will always be your follower, lol. Have a happy day!

I use my phone often to view blogs. But I have the option to view the blog as a full-view blog (with sidebar & tabs) by scrolling all the way down & 'view as a web version'. Also, I have rotating window viewing & use my two fingers to enlarge text. By viewing web version I SEE your black template & colored text!

I create on my laptop. I like the size and access to the tools I use.
Just last night I looked at my blog on my phone...(funny you should ask about it today!) It was the first time I had done that and you are right...no sidebars . I have an Android and really don't do much with my phone , except I am taking a ton more photos than with my camera. It seems much more convenient and I can post immediately.

I agree with you on our Hubbies and their photographs.
Your Bob always looks so good, I think he looks like an actor.

Happy 2018 as we plod ahead to our make-overs. Back to serious business for me...too many goodies but I did enjoy it . the aftermath, not so much!

I knew that about blogs looking different on the mobile/cellphone. I read blogs on my phone (or tablet) sometimes via Feedly, but I rarely try to comment from there because sometimes I've had trouble with that (to do with using different logins in different apps and so on). (And I also once managed to leave multiple identical comments on someone's blog because I did not think any of them got through, but it turned out they did!) Anyway you're right and the layout that we intend when we create a blog does not always show up exactly the same way with the readers! I did move my blog once and started over, but that was because I seemed to be running out of storage for images on my account(I think it worked a bit differently back then and I had no idea what I was doing...) With my current blog I've kept a layout where I can just change the background colour and pattern but keep everything else intact. Hasn't seemed worth while to make any "major" layout changes ;)

I only read blogs on my desktop - I need the size to see. When I am out - I usually don't have time. sandie♥

I prefer my laptop or desktop for doing anything on the internet. I will use fb on my phone and I will post to fb from my phone but I really rather had a bigger screen. Plus....when I do things with my phone I tend to make spelling mistakes.

Hey Sandra~ just stopping by to see what you've been up to... I had to change around a few things on my blog too... I got a new computer recently and I don't know if it was the screen size or the new system but everything looked strange! (I hope it didn't always look like that! LOL) And I've been away so long I'd just about forgot how Blogger works! ((HUGS))

I don't mind admitting ... I'm old school and hooked on my desktop. Except, when I first wake and while at work I read blogs (shhhh!) on my phone.

'Thought now and then about changing the look of my blog, but I'm afraid I'll push the wrong button and poof!!!-blog-b-gone.

I do most of my blogging on my laptop. I should use my desktop because I think my photos, when I edit them, probably turn out better on the desktop. But I'm lazy and like to sit in my recliner. :) I read on my tablet at night when I go to bed but I don't try to comment on it as I can never hit the right keys on that small keypad. Love your new header! And Happy New Year to you and Bob!!

That's interesting. I prefer to read blogs on my computer or Chromebook. I do emails and Facebook from my phone.

Sandra, I only read blogs on my desktop or tablet, but never on my phone. It's a smartphone, but the smallest iPhone model and for me the phone is for chatting and messages, not viewing. I have also thought about changing the look of our blog, but most likely will wait until I decide to create an entirely new one sometime in 2018.

I do read blogs on tablet, some on phone. You can go down to the bottom of it and click for web version. Which I do sometimes.
