Life is Like a Mountain Railroad

Life is like a mountain railroad
With an engineer so brave

We must make this run successful
From the cradle to the grave

Watch the curves, the fills the tunnels
    Never falter, never fail

Keep your hand upon the throttle
And your eye upon the rail
Oh, blessed Savior, thou wilt guide us
Til we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In God's grace forever more
As you roll across the trestle
Spanning Jordan's swelling tide
You behold the union depot
Into which your train will glide

There you'll meet the superintendent
God the Father, God the Son
With a hearty, joyous greeting
Weary pilgrim, welcome home

  2. Hi Sandra thanks for the comments on my blog. Thought I would mention a good all round lens that would allow you to do some macro photography as well as being a good telephoto. check out this link: http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Sigma-70300mm-F456-DG-Macro-4200
This lens is great because you don't have to get too close to your subject. Ideal for Butterflies Damselflies etc... but also keeps good detail if you crop in closer. Not a bad price considering what you get. Xmas is coming make hints Ha Ha Kev

  9. Great post. Mr.K and I grew up around trains. We spent many childhood hours admiring them but in very different places on the globe. Now many are museum pieces.

  11. Great shots of the old steam locomotive, I have always found them fascinating. The Oak Ridge Boys were a favorite of mine at one time but they got lost in the years. Thanks for the video.

  13. Being English, I'm a born-lover of trains. I used to ride one of these steam locomotives to work each day, oftentimes, I would show up with dark circles around my eyes from the coal dust ;)
Your pictures tell the story of a time forgotten, just precious !

  18. Nicely done, Sandra. Love the pictures of railroading. Your blog caught my eye this morning because this is the 67th anniversary of the death of Charles Tillman, who wrote the tune for this gospel song. He's a rather interesting fellow! If you'd like to read a bit about his life, I invite you to check out my daily hymn blog, Wordwise Hymns, for today. God bless.
