I thought I would give you a very short "break" from all my Chrismtas lights and Favorite Things. Of course Deer, live or glass are on my list of Favorites.
This beautiful deer was after something in the pocket of the wild life rescue person. Can you guess what before the end of the photos?
this looks like fun, but we were told a deer is more dangerous than a bobcat when cornered or frightened and anyone else would be in danger from the hooves, which can be lethal, they stand on hind legs and flail with the front hooves if afraid.
the treasured food was of all things...... a Bannana....
What did the reindeer say before launching into his comedy routine?
This will sleigh you (yet another Ho Ho Ho from Sandra Claus)
Oh my, there are deer every where. The eyes on the one on your sidebar are just a touch on the scary side. The real deer is a beauty, I figured he was after some type of fruit.
ReplyDeleteThose hooves make great weapons, in the wild it is a good idea not to upset Bambi.
Great pictures. For a moment I thought that might be Bob. We almost hit a deer coming home from John's home last week. It was small but we were doing 50mph at the time, it would have realy made a mess of the truck.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, how sweet! Gerry
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat!! :) I have never heard of them eating bananas before but who's to say we all have to like the same things? :)
ReplyDeleteAT first I thought he was licking that man's skin as I know they do that for the salt content.
Lovely shots Sandra.
I have been looking at your blogs but have not been commenting. I have been busy as you know. They are all good. I love the photoshops of the Nativity. I have got to get our magnet on the back of the truck. Love the little deer. I don't know how people shoot them. They are so sweet. I would have hated for Pat to hit the deer. He swerved and missed him, thank goodness. I also did not want to get in a wreck.
ReplyDeleteJohn lives so far out in the boondocks that can happen any time.
Dear me, a banana! Never heard of that. Looked like the rescue guy had a strawberry or red jelly bean in his hand in the third photo! Nah, no rescue worker would give candy, though.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha -- you are so funny! I look forward to your jokes each day. We have deer that come to Zone 3 each night and we feed them a deer blend food we get at the Feed and Seed. Beth says it is so relaxing watching those beautiful animals. However, they also jump out at us on the road -- not too relaxing then....I'm just sayin'....
ReplyDeleteThese are great pictures, extreme close-ups! Really, more dangerous than a bobcat?? Deer me!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! We get deer in the vacant land behind our house every so often, but not so much now as more houses get built!
ReplyDeleteYour riddles make my heart happy! Deer have the most beautiful eyes.
ReplyDeleteLove the deer photos Sandra; they also love apples and carrots.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful pictures of the deer. I didn't know they liked bananas. I do know they like roses.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! What a dear deer. Wonderful pictures; I didn't know deer like bananas.

Oh the dear deer.... I love them too--the live ones and the glass ones. I don't have any glass ones, but have at least one deer ornament on my tree.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the deer..
AND---a big HA HA HA for the joke.
Hugs,
Betsy
How can anyone shoot those sweet creatures? Wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Great set Sandra they are such beautiful animals.
ReplyDeleteWe had a close call with a couple large deer that darted in front of the car last Sunday night. Too close for my comfort!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, I've seen a deer attack on film before. It's amazin' how they can stand on their hind legs and use their front hooves as weapons.
Your little deer is a cutie!!!
God bless ya and have a most splendid day sweetie!!!
I guess that little deer sure likes his bananas. I guessed wrong. phooey. I love the little ho ho ho at the end. your jokes crack me up
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet face - and wow - a banana - I didn't guess that!!! Love your riddles - keep 'em coming Sandra Claus!
ReplyDeleteWe've been battling the flu or food poisoning since very early this morning (hubby got me up) and he's got it worse! I just feel like a slug but a little better (he's coming around). Anyway, I wouldn't blame the Deer! I think they are so sweet and wish they were never hunted! Anything with hooves like that- I'd be careful though! Nice photos
ReplyDeleteI didn't see a banana... thought I saw a cherry or piece of apple or something like that. They are beautiful but the damage they can do a car or even a house if they accidentally get in, is amazing!
ReplyDeleteBanana?! I'd never have guessed. That must be a Florida deer! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know deer could be dangerous! Except on the road. When it's dark Andy always drives a lot slower up in the mountains because of the deer and elk.
ReplyDeleteThat deer sure was interested in getting that treat. I didn't know they liked bananas.
ReplyDeleteHari Om
ReplyDeleteOf course it was food it wanted... what a cutie. Thanks for time tunneling us here! YAM xx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThe deer is well trained, with food. I would have guessed deer corn not a banana. What a cutie, love the photos. Take care, have a great day!
That deer is very pretty and I'd sure like to feed it.
ReplyDeleteMS what a wonderful flash back...I saw one of my favorite bloggers Squirrel Queen from 2010. I miss her she had a fun blog. The deer was quite endearing too
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
OH dogs I just saw Remington too...wow what memories
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
That deer is fascinating and very determined. Bananas who would have guessed it?
ReplyDeleteGreat dive back into the archives.
Sue
If paid to guess what was in his pocket, well I'd be penniless!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I'd probably be on the injured reserve list for not heeding the deer keeper's warning.
Some things are just TOO cute not to take a chance, and deer are some of my favorite things.
What a beautiful rewind, such a friendly and gorgeous deer.
ReplyDeleteRosy says thank you for her Rosy roses!!
What a cutie! And yum yum...better than the dragonfly meal my bird had! haha!
ReplyDeletePurdy!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! \ Wouldn't you just love to hug them around the neck? Not a good idea though, I've seen one flaying their hooves at someone online, although ages ago. This man was doing it just to get the behavior on camera. So dangerous and I felt more sorry for the deer than I did for the man. He just wanted clicks at the poor deer's expense. He had smeared something on himself to get the reaction. Awful!
