The reception desk at my favorite rehab home, is owned and run by Martha. The residents love what she does for every holiday/season. This week it was decorated for Saint Patrick's day and she brought her tiny, 4 inch doll collection to sit on small benches.
the detail is amazing in such a small doll
This one has real tears running down its face.
Above, I was to close with the flash and it blue it out, but Martha said it made it look like a real baby. Below I worked on it a little in PhotoShop. Do you think it looks like a real baby?

I have never seen little dolls like this before. If you hadn't said, I would have thought they were regular size! They are amazing and each is so unique, with it's own special and different face! Does this kind of doll have a name?
ReplyDeleteThat one with tears instantly made me want to cry right along with it. Very cool dolls!
ReplyDeleteThe detail is amazing for such a small doll. That last one does look like a real baby. Maybe it's just me but a couple of them are just a touch on the creepy side.
ReplyDeleteThey look like doll babys. no real baby's here. LOL
ReplyDeleteno, not to me. but they are cute.
ReplyDeleteWell, technically, no. It still looks like a doll. But a magically-made doll!!! One of many magically-made dolls. :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm surprised they are only 4 inches tall! Martha must be a lovely person to want to cheer everyone up in this way.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute dolls! They are really cool! Thank you so much for the positive thoughts while I was ill this past weekend! I appreciated it! I am doing much better today!
ReplyDeleteVery unique dolls each with their own personality.
ReplyDeleteNo they don't look real to me, but I have seen some of those faces on kids. I personally love dolls, but I would not ever have a collection. Thanks for sharing your find.
The expressions on the faces of these dolls are incredible. You've done a great job with these photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, scarey dolls. You forgot to put "Chuckie" in there.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Ginny. I thought the dolls were life-size!! I like the little frowner with the tears!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie

Just read Snapper 2's comment. I couldn't stand Chuckie movies! Some of the dolls are a bit scary looking. And I think the last one does look real.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so nice of Martha to do what she does since the residents enjoy it so much.
So real one of the an "eyes" closeup reminded me of one of my granddaughters. Loved these dolls and images!
ReplyDeletethose dolls are all awesome!
ReplyDeletegreat post, sandra, great series of photos, too.

Did you just change your blog with all those titles across the top or have I missed it.
ReplyDeleteI like knowing someone cares enough to decorate for the people in the home.
I could never work there personally. I am a wimp.
The babies were cute.

Wonderful to see... but I have always found dolls quite scary...
ReplyDeleteThis made me think of little dolls I used to collect when I was a kid. They were called pee wee dolls but I don't think they were that detailed. I love the one with the little tears. So cute
ReplyDeleteI bet Lorelei would love one of these dolls...
ReplyDeletereally cool ways to display them Sandra...you are very clever...
ReplyDeleteWow, people's talents never cease to amaze me. Yours, the doll makers and the display. Good stuff.
