Part two, up close and personal viewing of the Hope Family Services center that is a haven of help for abused women and children.
"Not only does it help get the word out, but it also took a building that was fairly boring and made it look beautiful," Lynch said. "It's fun, bright colors. ... What we deal with every day does not make you smile, it's sad. People who come to us are at the end of their rope. It's nice that a community of artists said 'Let's cheer you up, let's make you smile.'"
Ferran said the project was done by both freelance artists and some artists from VMI Media Group. Artists of diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, and from other cities including Tampa and Sarasota also participated in the project, he said. comments from Bradenton Herald writer, Mariam Valverde
If you enlarge the photos you can see the doors, windows, power boxes that are painted over and disappear from sight.

Wow! It's gorgeous! I can see a door hidden in there. From a distance you don't see anything but this great fun, colorful painting! I still Love the heart in the wave. I really like that tree with a city and long nose too! LOL This really is cool!
ReplyDeleteThey are awesome! Love the colors -- they make me smile! Thanks for sharing! You find the most interesting things!
ReplyDeleteThese are the kinds of images that pull me back again and again to find new surprises in the details. And I wouldn't be surprised if this whimsical building art becomes a magnet for repeat visits by locals and out -of-towners to see the paintings and stay to shop the thrift store!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! Great Post.
ReplyDeleteWall paintings are coming back.
Wonder how a whole bunch of artists did these, together? Because there seems to be a general theme to the WAY they are all painted.
ReplyDeleteSince we do our own stuff, so individually, wonder how numerous artists... "did it"? :-)
How is your *patient* coming along???
Love the artwork! Beautiful color!
ReplyDeleteThat is just so amazing. It is good to see that someone had the foresight to brighten this place which is filled with sadness.
ReplyDeletei do really enjoy the cheer this brings. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors. The way the doors, windows and vents have been made to disappear is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove it, such creativity! Happy Monday to you!
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness what talented folks..my mom cannot draw a straight line with a ruler and good grief she is not allowed to touch paint brushes either. MOL
ReplyDeleteNote from Mom:
As I keep telling my hubby I heart my iPad. When I retired in April 2011 my bosses gave me an espresso machine and a nice check. My intent was to buy a lap top. Initially I looked but never made a decision. About a month ago my daughter bought an iPad. After hearing all about it and what it could do, I finally spent the money from my bosses. One really nice feature is we can have a FaceTime call with our daughter every week.
We can actually see each other.
Hugs Madi and Mom
I love this even better than the last post. I hope there will be more, or is this all? Up close and personal I can really see the details and not just the colors and pattern. A fish with a mustache, trees growing buildings in the leaves, a mushroom with an eye...and I know that if mushrooms had eyes, it WOULD be just one. And the sun with telescope eyes. Kind of reminds me of the words of that Beatles song about kaleidoscope eyes, I wonder if that is what the artist was thinking.
ReplyDeleteMy Word! Beautiful artistry and gorgeous colors! Great shots, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing this backwards, reading part 1 before part 2. I had a super busy weekend so I'm just getting around to my favourite blogs.. I love the joyful spirit in these photos.

that is just so cool I love the way they painted over the doors and stuff.
ReplyDeleteWay cool. It might take a while to memorize where the door is on this building.
ReplyDeleteOkay now up close is really something. And for some weird reason it had me recalling the "Angry Bird" thing I see around. But this is way better!!
ReplyDeleteI just totally love this...
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots- such brilliant colors!
ReplyDeleteThey did a great job at hiding the doors and things in the painting.
ReplyDeleteWow! these are so cool. I love the one with the big fish..it comes right at you hehe..
ReplyDeleteThe details are great. I was looking at how they covered the power box, it blends in perfectly from a distance. There is no way to look at this art without smiling.
ReplyDeleteI like these colors...it does give a brightness!
