"Not only does it help get the word out, but it also took a building that was fairly boring and made it look beautiful," Lynch said. "It's fun, bright colors. ... What we deal with every day does not make you smile, it's sad. People who come to us are at the end of their rope. It's nice that a community of artists said 'Let's cheer you up, let's make you smile.'"
Ferran said the project was done by both freelance artists and some artists from VMI Media Group. Artists of diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, and from other cities including Tampa and Sarasota also participated in the project, he said. comments from Bradenton Herald writer, Mariam Valverde
If you enlarge the photos you can see the doors, windows, power boxes that are painted over and disappear from sight.

Wow! It's gorgeous! I can see a door hidden in there. From a distance you don't see anything but this great fun, colorful painting! I still Love the heart in the wave. I really like that tree with a city and long nose too! LOL This really is cool!

ReplyDeleteThese are the kinds of images that pull me back again and again to find new surprises in the details. And I wouldn't be surprised if this whimsical building art becomes a magnet for repeat visits by locals and out -of-towners to see the paintings and stay to shop the thrift store!

As I keep telling my hubby I heart my iPad. When I retired in April 2011 my bosses gave me an espresso machine and a nice check. My intent was to buy a lap top. Initially I looked but never made a decision. About a month ago my daughter bought an iPad. After hearing all about it and what it could do, I finally spent the money from my bosses. One really nice feature is we can have a FaceTime call with our daughter every week.
We can actually see each other.

I love this even better than the last post. I hope there will be more, or is this all? Up close and personal I can really see the details and not just the colors and pattern. A fish with a mustache, trees growing buildings in the leaves, a mushroom with an eye...and I know that if mushrooms had eyes, it WOULD be just one. And the sun with telescope eyes. Kind of reminds me of the words of that Beatles song about kaleidoscope eyes, I wonder if that is what the artist was thinking.
