  1. That vine looks so small and delicate for such large blooms. The colors are just gorgeous. Love your photos especially those macros.

  10. My gracious!!!! LOOK at those details you captured!!! Amazing!

Actually, me-thinks most stuff likes to be hacked back. At least, all the stuff I used to have fun with hacking back, grew like topsy, after. Kind of a futile effort.

This spring I didn't hack. We have a full-fledged "Sleeping Beauty's Castle" look. -chuckle-

    Gentle hugs,
    "Auntie"

  18. Your macros are marvelous, and the blossom is beautiful. I can sympathize with Bob, however, since I fight creepers up here. Unfortunately ours aren't as pretty as yours.

  19. Beautiful. I especially like the ones with the dark background.

  20. You get the most amazing macros! Beautiful! I've still not been able to do that with this camera, I don't know if it's the camera or the photographer. :)

  21. Your Flame vine is stunning, Sandra. We learned the only drawback is their creeping where they are not wanted.

  22. That's what Creepers do---they CREEP.... ha ha .... Great pictures... They really are pretty... Hope our Clematis starts 'creeping' again. It didn't bloom this year, so we cut it back.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  25. I love to see your flowers...even if it is a vine:)

    ReplyDelete
  26. That's a gorgeous flower on that creeper.
It seems to have a personality and being a creeper I can just imagine it creeping.
The macro shot where you can see the pollen are great!

  27. Look at all your followers' comments! How very wonderful! Love the texture in that last shot.

  28. A creeper makes it sound like something sinister but it's too pretty. Obviously Bob must think it's a tad sinister though since he keeps chopping it back....lol
I like the new header picture

  29. It's a neat little plant and I love the blooms. I want them here. :)

  31. Perhaps it is a Creeper but it sure is pretty.
I love the various shades of orange and red.

  32. Beautiful! Like your new header picture, too!

  33. Do these bring in lots of little hummers??

    ReplyDelete
  34. You should put together a flower book...:) Love the new header photo. ♥

  35. Still giggling about "the vine it road in on". And who said flowers were delicate?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love these beautiful trumpet vines; the color is quite vivid. Great job on the macro shot!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi Sandra, just saw some of these trumpet vines the other day and took some photos with my little point & shoot digital for a future post...hmmm you bet me to it with these GREAT images, but I still might do one after waiting awhile. They DO creep everywhere and can be quite invasive.

  38. So pretty and such amazing details you captured!

  39. Creeper my be annoying to Bob but it sure has lovely color and blooms.

  40. WOW, stunning photos! We call this the Trumpet Vine, and there are quite a few around here. Hope I posted on the right post!!

Oh yes, I had one of those on my fence; in OZ it's given its proper name of Campsis Grandiflora (aka Chinese Trumpet Vine) - and yes, it can surely take over if not regularly pruned! Great photos. YAM xx

  43. Pretty flowers but of course it's always a problem when one plant "gets out of control"...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hello Sandra, I know how robust the Trumpet Vine can be. I have several in my garden, one is over the front door and high porch. I love it's bright orange flowers, but not so much when they fall all over the stone entrance and steps.
You took lovely macro shots of the flowers.
    Enjoy your weekend

  45. Well it may keep coming back but at least it gives you pretty flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It flourishes and spreads without restraint, just like humans.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It makes me wonder where I was...I see no comment from me...cause you know I have a sort of love-hate relationship.with this! I love the flowers but will never get one because it would take over!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have always loved these blooms, but the plant does grow crazy. I used to call our plant Cousin It. Have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  49. That is one pretty creeper plant with nice blooms!

    ReplyDelete
  50. We've no pretty trumpets like yours, but I think their second cousin is trying to put down roots on our fence. (My lens app says it's a Virginia Creeper.)
The leaves are so pretty, I (almost) hate to destroy it.

  51. I'm so obedient..I remember this post and saw my comment on it from years ago.
The vine is still beautiful and such brilliant color but the creeping part not so beautiful.
It certainly has a mind of its own.

  52. It's a shame the vine is so creepy...because its flowers are gorgeous!!

  53. That vine may be persistent but it sure is pretty.
    Thanks for visiting my blog💗

  55. We always follow directions:). Well, most of the time. The flowers on the creeper plant are so pretty.
