This African Gray Parrot is the most voluble of all the ones in the gardens.
He knows a lot more than he said to us, but Hello, Pretty Bird, Meow, Woof Woof, and mad laughter kept us laughing so hard we could hardly stand. the more we laughed the more he laughed.
the Macaw above, flopped to the ground and was wandering off down the path, the keeper was no where in sight, Judy left me to corral him while she went for help. He wanted to peck my toes.
What is a parrot? A wordy birdy!
Woof! Woof! It's PRETTY. It will be cool if you can record it. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteWordy birdy! How funny :-) Again beautiful pictures and gorgeous colours. I like the last greenish one.
ReplyDeleteTime to get ready for work, have a great day there!
Maybe the Macaw wanted to get away from the talkative parrot. All of the birds are so pretty. I love your last photo of the parrot preening and showing off his tail feathers.
ReplyDeleteTheir details are amazing!

"Auntie"
I love parrots. I'm so happy you had a chance to photograph them!! Great shots. They can be hilarious when they start saying words!!
ReplyDeleteWordy Birdy for sure....Auntie has be wondering now...everything okay?
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful birds! When I was a kid, my first time in Florida, we stopped in at a shop where we were greeted with a loud voice saying, 'Warm out, ain't it!!' I looked around and did not see anyone...until I spotted the Myna bird. (Is that how you spell it?) I will never forget it, and often quote him in his same loud voice. :-) Thanks for the fun memory.
ReplyDeleteWhen our kitty died, Kevin reminded me that 'we know, when we get pets, that we're going to outlive them, unless we got a parrot.' And before I could say anything in response, he said, 'And we are NOT getting a parrot!' :-)
the last 2 shots are gorgeous! love!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous wordy birds too.
ReplyDeleteMy human sis has a Quaker Parrot named Taz. One of his favorite
things to say is 'what'cha doing'?
And if you knock on the wall he will knock on his perch with his beak the exact number of times you knock on the wall.MOL
Hugs Madi
They are just soooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is stunning! And wordy birdy so funny!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL birds! The colors are awesome! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThey are certainly beautiful and... talented birds.
ReplyDeleteI showed my husband yesterday's parrot joke and he immediately copied it and sent it to his sister who was having a bad day. Thanks, it made her day!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in these birds are remarkable.
ReplyDeleteAre these also photos from archives? Any way I think they are superb.
ReplyDeletePS I see you have already moved on with pumpkin time in your header.
ReplyDeleteThose wordy birdies are funny! Mom said that her grand mother had a minor bird that would say Hello Joe all the time and a few cuss words! lol I dated a guy who just had to have an African Gray. That bird did not like me at all. I don't remember what it said if he did say anything. I just thought it was messy. Glad I didn't marry him! lol
ReplyDeleteThe parrots and the Macaw are gorgeous. I like the ones in your header too. It looks great
ReplyDeleteLooks like that last one - likes himself - very pretty. Andy was looking at them with me and that was his favorite. Good thing you still have your toes.
ReplyDeleteThese are great pictures of the parrots. I really like the last photo, but all of them are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI can picture everything you're saying about these birds. :) They're all so beautiful!!!
