Our very own Backyard Rust

If you rest, you rust..... Helen Hayes

It is not work that kills men; it is worry.
Worry is rust upon the blade.
Henry Ward Beecher

there is never a day I can't find beauty in our backyard. This past week the weather was perfect for pictures.

  2. I absolutely love this.

I have admitted it, I am a lover of rust!

If you walk around my yard you will find rust, uh, art, in every flower bed.

I have an big wad of rusty wire in my front water garden, a plumbing pipe with a solar light in my fern bed. By my old water garden I have a tire filled with gravel, a rusty coil I liked and an old electric insulator. I even have a barbed wire wreath on the barn gate!

I love your rust and your new headed.

So glad you are feeling better.

  8. What is this, anyway? Whatever it is, you have made it beautiful yard art. I noticed you changed the header a few days ago (glad you are taking it slow) and thought it was so pretty, and totally YOU! Especially the bright and shadow mix. The combination of the color and texture of the ferns and rust, awesome! It is like a famous designer stepped in and posted this...have you been hanging with Jonathan Adler?

  10. This happened to us quite a few years ago. My husband went to the bank after me ranting and raving for quite a while....told them I said we are moving our money if I am not included on all communication. I really think it depends of whose name is first on the account.

  26. Strange isn't it how rust in one place can be seen as beauty and in another as decay and "junk".

  31. Hahaha, we have a propane tank just like that one in our shed. You turned it into a work of art. I have a rusty container in one of my flower boxes, I can't bear to throw it away.

    I love the first quote!
