Senior Moment 1,000,001

photo from Bed, Bath and Beyond

I am on my 4th set of these sheets, same color, same dual king bed... Saturday AM I went from corner to corner to corner and found the white tags in the 4th corner.

Wait! Are you asking Why? Why was she looking for the white tags?

The answer is,  if I put the white tag on my side corner of the bed, the fitted sheet FITS... the size of a King is only a few short inches difference and will not fit the bed unless it is exactly RIGHT....

Suddenly, a

Senior Moment 1,000,001.. Duhhhh

and I  started laughing like an idiot...

I ran walked down the hall and said can you  believe for years I have searched for the right corner when ALL I HAD TO DO was make sure the stripes went up and down the bed not across it? The answer was hiding in plain sight...

I learned to look for the tag when we bought our first King bed in 1986 when they were solids, and here I am still doing the same thing over and over....and did not even think about the stripes

  6. Oh red sheets. Your still thinking sexy I see. Especially these sheets. Good for you.

Oh well when I worked at the nursing home. One question I was asked. Do seniors lose their appetite in things that gives them pleasure. Of course we all put down no. head nurse said. What kind of answer is this. Huh,

Wrong. So your not having a senior moment but not sure if Bob thinks different about those sheets. only you two will know. Ha-ha.

Laughing at your funny blog again.
I love those sheets. So I am not having a senior moment. Thank goodness.

  11. fitted sheets make me absolutely crazy! all they'd have to do is put a line of colored thread along top and bottom to designate the ends as such. the top sheet has that nice, neat fold-over at the top. the fitted gives me fits.

  18. Striped sheets is a brilliant idea! Why didn't I think of it before now? I'm always wrestling with the blamed things trying to find which is the ride end to put on.

  19. You make me laugh Sandra.
We have a Cal King bed.
If I don't get the fitted sheet right the first time its run around that big bed again to straighten it.
I have one set with stripes like you...should have had the same brain storm. Too easy. I claim senior moments too.

  23. I always thought there was a trick to the sheets!!! I will look for the tag although ours are queen size - not king! Although we DO have a set of KING size sheets! Why? You ask? Well, when I first got Louis Dean he came with his own large matress and box springs. We were going to buy new sheets and I asked him what size they were. (I have never had anything but a full size mattress! My ex husband was small like I am!) He announced they were KING!!! When we got home and I discovered they were too big I asked LD why in the world he told me to get KING size??? His answer??? "Well, I just don't like the word 'queen!'"
He was 69 when I married him so I guess that qualifies for a senior moment!! He just keeps on having them!!!

  26. This sounds like something I would do. I didn't even think of the stripes when I was reading.
Well at least you finally figured that one out

  27. That is a great senior moment! Since the last few sets I've bought had stripes I had never thought about the tag. I'll remember that if I get some solid color ones.

  28. It's a mistake we all could have made. After all, you did it for years and years. I'll betcha I would have done the same thing. I would not think of the stripes.....well, maybe I would have. No matter anyways. Do you and hubby have red sheets? OOOLALA!

  29. These are great sheets, I bought the navy ones a few months back. Come to think of it, I think I looked for the tag, too! LOL

  30. I always look for the tag too! That is really funny about the stripe. I don't have stripes so I still look for the tag.
