Comes November in the North and the leaves start turning gold.
The next thing you know it is turning really cold.
Leaves start to falling
and kids start snowballing.
And most of the cold retirees move to Florida's Winter Paradise for a few months.

ReplyDeleteLove your fences and those beautiful trees and other green gems! Your rhyme was cute and apropos...we get snow birds here in AZ too. That's one big thing we have in common with Florida. I'd be one if I could. :-) Summers here are just too brutal for me.
ReplyDeleteDOUBLE!? Holy Cow!! I knew it was a lot, but not this high! I WANT this palm tree! It is awesome! None grow here, we have to go to a botanical garden to see them. And I DO go there to see them. Now if Bob would just pull it up from the roots, I will pay for postage. I'll be waiting for a brown truck!

Well Happy Fall, anyways! I have been to Florida twice and both times it was sweltering hot, so I haven't seen the moderate temps that people rave about. I will have to come in the winter!

ReplyDeleteMy Grandparents spent every winter in Largo, Florida. As they got older the winters in Minneapolis were more than they could handle.
That's one reason my parents never returned to Minnesota after the war. California just suited them fine. No snow to shovel.

I wouldn't mind spending winter in paradise. I love that tree in the 5th photo. Is it a palm of some sort? So many trunks (or whatever the term on those would be).
