Pancakes Re-Run from Nov 9, 2009

Re-Run post from Nov 9, 2009 - five years ago today... seems I have not changed at all.
Bob: Where is the syrup

Sandra: In the honey bottle.
Bob: Which honey bottle? there are 3.
Sandra: Not the honey BEAR, the bottle with the dark colored syrup, the light one is honey.
Bob: OK, I got it, am I supposed to be able to put the bottle down?
Sandra: What?
Bob: Am I supposed to be able to put the bottle down? it's stuck to my hand.

I leave the computer, walk down the hall, take the bottle, wipe if off and sit it on the counter. The Rest of The Conversation goes like this.

Bob: Why is the syrup in the honey bottle?

Sandra: Because last time I bought the syrup, the only size they had in Log Cabin was 64 ounces. I told you all this when I bought it and that it was to big for the cabinet and also hurts my hand because it is to heavy. You never listen.

Bob: Why do we have 3 honey bottles?

Sandra: I told you that to. I like the Honey Bear, but it drips when I pour, so I bought the honey no drip bottle and it really works. I liked it so much and the bear was empty, and I wanted to put syrup in the no drip bottle, so I bought a new no drip bottle and poured the honey in the empty bear to store it until the honey bottle is empty then I will pour it from the bear into the no drip, then I put the syrup in the no drip honey bottle.

(his eyes are glazed and he is not LISTENING again)

Good morning from Waynesboro, Lucy Ricardo!! I remember parts of this post, yes I do. And I am with Bob. I had read it three times and still cannot keep it straight. BUT that is not the point anyway. The point is that you work at things till you get them right. Even if it is hilariously funny.

Ha ha When Mountain Man glazes over and doesn't listen to me the first time tell him where things are or why they are then later asks " What did you tell me babe" I just say "Nothing Honey" and let him fumble through trying to find things ~ listen the first time Mister or just "wonder" through my world trying to figure things out lol Okay I DO eventually tell him again .hee

Thanks for making me smile, Sandra. It truly is funny how similar people who've been married for a while all sound so similar.

Very odd, but this type of conversation sounds so familiar to me. LOL. Glad you brought out back. Haven't had pancakes in years, but I loved them with Mrs. Butterworths and butter. :-) I know I'm being disloyal to Wisconsin to even mention Mrs. B. in a state full of maple trees and real maple syrup!!

You know we like that at lunch once in awhile those pancakes. Oh love your conversations kiddo. Not sure if we have talked about honey bottles. I know we have talked about the syrup or honey never is enough it laps up into the pancakes . I think it may be we like the sugar more. Oh boy. Not good right.

A hoot. I am sitting drinking hot choc. Almost spilled it on myself. It has cooled down.

He is not listening. Oh for sure that is men.

Well, the picture makes me hungry, but the commentary is making me giggle, which is a much better way to start my day and much healthier too! You are such a funny lady, have you ever thought of a new career as a stand up comedian? You have such a knack for making every day living fun! No wonder you have so many blogger friends!

Have to confess I found my own stare getting glazed before getting half way through your answer. In this particular case... my sympathies to Bob... :)

Really enjoyed this conversation and they don't listen! The other night Mark asked me if I wanted popcorn. I said no! Then he came into my office where I was watching TV and said my popcorn was ready.....I didn't eat it!

Ida said...

Oh my goodness you both crack me up. I think I understand the logic though of the 3 Honey bottles.

HaHa...giggle.
You make me laugh right out loud.
My Hubby asks what I am laughing at..I read your post...He says...
Makes perfect sense to me....
Wish I could get a picture of the activity going on outside my diningroom window.
My Manzanita tree is blooming with the beautiful bell like flowers.
The ruby-throated hummingbirds are having a field day. They flit so fast I can't get a shot with my point and shoot.
I may never get anything done today. Too busy watching them while I fiddle on the computer.

Oh, gosh, sitting here with tears in my eyes....this is so our house. Even the eyes glazed part! I am glad I am not alone in this! I really needed this laugh!

Michaele said...

You made me chuckle out loud and the dogs want to know why. I say - honey or syrup either one - surprise me.
p.s. love your plates

Funny post, Sandra! We have that back and forth banter here and people think we are fighting. NO! That is just how we are...We take no offense and we are fine with it. You and Bob are a good pair!

Our house often has listening issues and we laugh about it later but at the time we tend to be annoyed.
