Slightly OCD? CDO?

Desoto Mall shadow shots

Can a person be slightly OCD? 50 % OCD?
I think so because I am.
I don't double check things and I do step on cracks but...

I drink my coffee out of the same cup until that cup breaks. Always.

I make up the bed from the left side.. Always.

I stand at the left corner of the bed to put the fitted sheet on and I can’t flap the top sheet to put it on unless I am on the left side. Always

I arrange the 5 bed pillows and 3 throw pillows, in the Same Order… Always…

What shall I do if someone shoves my bed up against the wall on the left side…

I drive in Wal-Mart at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning and I park in the same parking place at Wal-Mart  and if someone is in it I say out loud to myself,
someone is in my spot.

I Straighten crooked photos on walls.. in public places.. Straighten things on public counters while waiting.. In line at cashier, I straighten magazines or chewing gum packages, hang things with same things..

In our bathrooms, I don’t mind bottles/jars but I can’t stand if all the labels are not to facing front…

I don't care about germs or being clean, I just MUST have ORDER.

I have CDO.

It’s like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical

order,

LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE.

  1. I think we all have some OCD tendancies from time to time. I'm more OCD at work than I am at home.

  4. Love the shadow shots and you totally crack me up. Are you saying you're a bit rigid and inflexible?? LOL I do know what you mean, though. Very funny post. The world needs people who love order - to make up for all those who live helter-skelter lives. :-)

  5. Yes, you do have symptoms of CDO. :) I have a few too, but the major one is obsessively washing and/or disenfecting my hands. Of course, working where I do there are unclean folks passing us money and paperwork all the time, so I do go through a lot of Germ-X.

  6. you're a creature of habit, for certain!

  7. MS YOU WHATEVER YOU HAVE DO NOT EVER, NO NEVER CHANGE...YOU ARE POETRY IN MOTION WHEN YOU WRITE. I JUST LOVE HOW YOUR MIND WORKS. Now I must admit to always making up the bed starting on the left corner too, probably because it is closest to the bedroom door. I like things straight not crooked at home. But i'm not as bad as B about pictures. He actually gets a level out to straighten pictures after I dust them.

clapping wildly at your wonderful post

  8. Momma is the same way, and has used CDO to describe it too! She also says she's "a little neurotic." Whatever, I still loves her!

  9. Good Grief, Girl! - Catch yourself a break! Repeating all that stuff over and over is going to drive you crazy. Especially if you think about it as you are doing it! I think we all do it but I DO NOT WANT TO ADMIT IT!LOLOLOL!

  10. Hilarious at the end...the letters must be in order!!! I am the same way, only worse. And also I think part of it is that when we get older, we are less flexible, we enjoy order and predictability. I need all the cans with the labels facing me, otherwise I have to dig around to see what's in them. I also use the same kitchen utensils for certain things...iced tea spoons to get into a tall thin bottle, the same brown mug for my coffee. I have a post scheduled with the same M&M's machine!!! The first picture looks like a 1950's diner, perfectly!

  11. I guess I may fall into that group as well. Some things just HAVE to be done certain ways to make them right.

  12. I howled at that punch line. I love your sense of humor. I am 50 percent CDO too ;) trying to think what mine are, there are so many. Can't touch a door handle in a public bathroom. I have to use a tissue. I also can't take just one Altoid out of the container, it has to be three. Everything should be in threes right? And my peppermints HAVE to be Altoids. Oh the secrets that do come out lol.

  16. I think we all have a certain amount of OCD but the trick is to know it and keep in under control.

  17. I see that we are a lot alike on the OCD thing. But I do not like germs and wash my hands a gazillion times a day. I have the cleanest hands in my household for sure. lol!

  18. I guess I am in great company too.
Perhaps not quite to your extent but order is good. Love your ending about CDO...That's a perfect "Sandra-ism"

  19. You would go crazy in this house! I can't keep anything straight. Well, our differences are what make the world go round...or perfectly square.

  21. Count me in too, Sandra, in doing things a certain way ALL the time. I usually make the bed from the left side as well, pillow always come first. I don't have a favorite parking spot at any store, just any one that is empty.

  22. I have a little of it. You could have a ball at my house. When I was running the small private school I had it bad there.:)

  23. I think we all have a little bit of it every now and again. I have always been an organised person and I don't like mess. Often get comments at work that my workspace always looks so clean lol however when the cleaners has messed up my desk while dusting it, it can drive me a bit crazy. My displays are twisted and not leaning straight next to each other, my other small things are all over the place, so yes suppose I have a wee bit of ocd. Enjoy your weekend

  24. I like labels out too. The girls give me trouble and laugh about messing up Mom's cans. I justify it by saying if the labels show I know what I have and need with one look.

If that's true why do I feel so awful when the flour or sugar canister is turned so the label doesn't show? I know it's flour and sugar but the label must be out!

  25. I'm with you on the things that you do. I do pretty much the same thing!

  26. i have a little of it. i think i fall into the "washers" category. so count me in too.

    big hugs!
