30th "Celebration" OUR Style

For any celebration we eat lunch out, not dinner, as most of you do. We go to bed much to early to eat dinner out.

We decided for our 30th Anniversary we wanted a BURGER.. Five Guys was our choice because the balmy temps were at 75 and brilliant sunshine, blues skies and white puffy clourds. PLUS Five Guys has  picnic tables on the sidewalks.

We sat in the filtered shade of 3 palm trees, and people watched. The day was perfect, the burgers were perfect, the company was perfect..  FG is next door to a Mexican Restaurant and Petco.... a steady stream of dogs going in and out and sitting under the tables while their owners eat, gave us much joy. Free entertainment.

NOTE: we had Sara Lee Coconut Cream Pie for Dinner at 4 PM...

We stopped in Petco for the 40 pound bag of dog food, and as I was doing you know what, Bob said....

"I am taking your camera if you don't come ON"... what ever could he have meant?

The Thing IS.... on the way to the car I took one more photo... can you guess what this was on?

Scroll Down
for the answer....

A brand new Shelby Cobra Mustang... can you believe 2 OTHER old ladies were laughing at me while I stooped down to take this in the front grill?
What is wrong with them?????

  6. We ate at 5 Guys last week. Love them but like you it is a rare treat. That sounds like a perfect day and what a pretty setting. Bob made me laugh about taking your camera away. We are so like kindred spirits.

  7. What a perfect day! And it looks beautiful! So cool you watched a movie while you ate. The movie being "Come on boy, lets go to the pet store! Now, where's your leash?" I have had a Five Guys one time maybe 15 years ago. Our son adores them. And they must be great if that is where you went to celebrate. They just built a new one in town. I always take pictures in pet stores, they are a wealth of blogging. That being said, how on earth did you snap the birds and the guinea pig without cage wire in the way???

  8. I so appreciate your style of celebrating, Sandra! Our anniversary is in December so we don't eat outside, although I would enjoy the free entertainment.

I have no idea why Bob would want to snatch your camera!! He ought to know by now what's REALLY important! And those silly "ladies" laughing at you? I just don't get it. ;)

  10. Happy Anniversary! I had my first Five Guys in Florida and wasn't impressed but am in love with them now. When Mark and I go to the show together we will often stop at the one next to the theater. Yummy and their fries are good too.....

  11. Sounds perfect. I prefer going out for lunch rather than dinner as well... And rather "ordinary" food to the most fancy stuff, most of the time. Happy anniversary!

  12. Happy Anniversary you two.
I love your sense of adventure. It's really not where you go , but who you are with that counts the most to me.
    Great shots at the PetCo...
You would think after 30 years Bob would know you NEEDED to capture some shots to remember the special day...(:0)
