Proof Positive Old Age CAN be Beautiful...
My skin droops
My eyelids sag
My tummy hangs down
Everything is round.
Wrinkles abound.
I AM BEAUTIFUL just like this his declining flower
“It’s [old age] not a surprise, we knew it was coming – make the most of it. So you may not be as fast on your feet, and the image in your mirror may be a little disappointing, but if you are still functioning and not in pain, gratitude should be the name of the game.”
― Betty White, If You Ask Me

Cute post and I love the sunflower photos. Hope your day is a good one.

well I have to say that old age looks better on the sunflower than it does on me...lol.
ReplyDeleteA guy who comes in the store I work at always says if I got up and I'm walking it's a good day
Good morning MS...
ReplyDeleteoh did we ponder along with you on yesterday's post. We have several mega churches here too. One is so large it bought a 3 story hotel the remodeled it to fit their needs.
Each day we see beauty in spite of the sags and bags
Hugs madi and mom
Beautiful take on the declining sunflower and approaching old age!
ReplyDeleteI like the declining sunflower- the way the leaves curl- pretty! I compare Betty White to Bob Hope.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week and thank you for our conversations about the guys. You are a sweetheart.
Great thoughts indeed and apt photos.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling my age this morning...but at least I am moving and relatively sane. I think.
ReplyDeleteOh so sad. Can't turn back the lock can we.
ReplyDeleteGrin and bear it old age.
Amen! Wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post!!!
ReplyDeleteThe seeds will provide next years crop if the birds don't eat them.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo and your poem.
These faded flowers are really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat first one, especially, is beautiful, Sandra. And you've got the eye that sees it first. Today just before going to get my shower, I said to K. that I need to get my shower and wash my hair so I don't look like something from a zombie movie. But JUST before I said the words 'zombie movie,' K. intercepted with 'Jurrasic Park.' Oh, thanks a lot. LOLOL
ReplyDeleteI really like this - thank you.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI like the Betty White quote a LOT! ;))
ReplyDeleteThis post is very apt at the moment as I lost my brother just last week. Yes, we should all appreciate life, its over too soon.
ReplyDeleteNever mind the aches and pains just look around and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteThere is definitely beauty even in aging. For myself, when I wake up and am still able to breathe,it's a good day.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Sandra - 100%!
ReplyDeleteAw yes...the sagging eyelids...I know these well sister... ;)
ReplyDeleteNothing to do but smile.
Happy July Sandra!

That first photo is beautiful. It's good to see the beauty in a faded flower and even more so in those of us of a certain age. Have a good day, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteI love this comparison, and Betty White's quote, too. My little sunflowers didn't survive.
