LOOK UP and all around

Look up, not down, look Forward not back, always look up, never look down,
because after the rain, the rainbow is not on the ground.  unknown author

I would like you all to meet a new blog friend, she lives a couple ours from me in Florida and I love her blog, she is a nature lover to... Lavender Dreams

These backyard pinecones are now in a million pieces on the pool deck, little mini bombs left their for my bare feet to find. Left by our squirrels who sit and eat it down to almost nothing and thorns.

Sunday Sermonette by Madsnapper.... All homeless are NOT drug addicts, all homeless people are not bad, all homeless people are not alcoholics and all homeless people are not thieves.  The majority are people down on their luck in situations that got out of control. I know this because I was homeless for six months. I did not live on the street, but had an aunt I could count on. But for the grace of God and a loving aunt, it might have been me out there.

  1. Well, tonight your blog posted at midnight! I have seen Lavender Dreams around blog land. I think I even commented to her once or twice, because I love lavender. Now I have to look down, down, down. Or I will fall. My balance is that bad. I cannot even look up when I am standing still, I will tilt too far and tip over.

  3. Beautiful! I absolutely love pinecones. I tried the link. It takes me to your blog post. I know Lavender Dreams. It is a lovely blog but
I haven’t visited in a while. Thank you for reminding me that I have to do that and catch up.

  5. Thank you for your wisdom about homelessness. I lived in a government subsidized apartment during a year when I couldn't work because I was taking care of my terminally ill child. I had heard people say that all people in the 'project' were bad. I found my neighbors to be very kind and understanding. Many had lost jobs or had serious health problems.

  6. Funny you talk about homeless...the news the past two nights has had about a guy from the DNR has been collecting good, weatherproof sleeping bags and other items for the homeless. He is out and about and by the river, and runs into where some of them sleep. So he was doing something about it.

  7. I would have guessed you and Lavender would have already been friends. You are right Sandra - there is no better way to look than up. And you are right about homesless people - can you believe I had a dream last night aobut being homeless. Weird.

  11. I have followed Lavender Dreams for some time now. I love her pictures of birds and nature and keep wondering what kind of camera she uses. The same as I do for you. But I know more about your cameras and will discuss with you when/if I decide I have to buy one. It's the learning it that worries me. Love your cones. I saw beautiful light on the mountain this morning and thought about you.

  18. I’m so happy you met Lavender Dreams! I’ve been a fan of her for years now! Y’all are reall birds of a feather so it’s only right that y’all flock together!
You are right about the homeless. I think there’s been a breakdown in family relationships and the homeless have no place to go. My sister in law lived with us for a time years and years ago. Some people are just a paycheck away from being homeless. Have you seen the movie Same Kind of Different as Me? I read the book and I’ve been to hear the author speak. Everyone has a story.....everyone.

  19. One reason I don't care for squirrels....they cause damage all over. Great cone pic. I love shooting things like that. I am more a natural element shooter.
