Photo's taken on full zoom standing outside the sliding glass doors. Dwarf Powder Puff is the common name, Calliandra haematocephala bontanical name. Beside Pan is where the Susans grew all summer.
The first 3 photos, are of a 3 foot tall tree in a bucket, Bob grew them from seed from our 6 foot tree by the kitchen window... The small plant below is one of three plants that magically appeared, planted in 3 places by the mother tree. Without help from Bob.

My daughter had one of these plants but our climate wasn't good for it, I think it died in the end.

ReplyDeleteGreat perspective shots! It all looks so much bigger till the pool. Is Bob still planting them in buckets, or not anymore? It would be great to sit them all around the pool! But they might dump too much trash into it. How long do the blooms last? I do not remember Pan, and he is an extra treat here. Next post - how and when did you get him?

What a beautiful backyard, I always wanted a pool but figured with raising kids the up keep would be too much....now with the fibro I know it would be. Never seen those flowers, so pretty. If I could I would plow up the back yard and plant it full of flowers if different kind, so thick I would not even have to pull weeds! That would be the dream yard, plus I would not have to cut it again!!! Both my brothers have wood working talents. It’s funny how adults so close in age can be so different cause even though we are talented we are all three very different!

ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty flower and reminds me of the bottle brush plant. They both have good descriptive names. It's good to have flowers in bloom over the Summer. As one lot goes over you have something else, but it's nice to have self-seeded surprises too. Love your pool with plants and sheltering trees growing there. You can sit on one side and zoom in to snap your flowers.

ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of Bottle Brush around where we live. I like the tiny powder puffs better but the Brush does invite the hummers.
