Inactivity is the enemy -Yagottawanna

At 2:30 AM, Sunday, 12/29/2019, Bob got up, went down the hall, turned on the tree, plugged in the lights in the nook, and I heard him mumbling about the coffee pot not on, he went to the door and said Big, COME ON!
by that time I had stumbled into the kitchen and said You DO know it is only 2:30?

His eyebrows raised and he said I thought the clock said 3:30, which is his normal time to do the above. We went back to bed but I WAS UP! so was he. at 4:15 we got up. At 4:30 he cooked his breakfast, and I hit the desktop PC! To early for me to eat.

Since we had 3 hours until daylight, I did my exercise. Now I want to share how you can do a mile or more in you office or where ever you keep your computer.

First watch 1 mile walk,with Leslie Sansone HERE to learn the steps I use. These 4 basic steps can be done to any beat you like, your own personal music, or walk with Leslie.

Second on my list is Katie Kadan , Rolling in the deep from the TV Show The Voice. Sometimes I do her song 3 times in a row, which is almost a mile.

Third is I cool down to Believe, a duet sung by Adam Lambert and Katie, on The Voice.
I pick songs with a beat I like and do the steps.and I  try to do Leslie or 3 songs every other day.

I walk Big and Bob, then either walk a another mile OR do the video thing. I switch up each day.

Inactivity is the enemy of our bodies and brains. The thing is YOUGOTTAWANNA do the exercise thing. Can't walk or dance? Sit in a chair and use your arms and wave to the beat, I even sometimes pretend I am a conductor.  THINK NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

Us is an USSIE!

It is almost an impossibility to get Bob to pose for a photo or with me for one of us together.

I begged and begged and used the cell to take the first one, his face was to red.

I liked him in the first one and me in the second and wanted to do the Face Swap in Photoshop, and sat there straining my brain and thought the photo is such poor quality and no one cares.

I left them alone and made a heart. I smoothed the red on his face and cut off the part I did not like.

Voila! First Ever Ussie of US...

We have 4 photos of us together, including the ugly faded one on the day we got married. that is FOUR in 35 years.

While nagging, I might have mentioned this was our 35th Christmas Eve together and NO PHOTOS

Magical Products

Most of you will know if I say the words "Smokey eye" what it means. As in make up the eyes with a Smokey look.  Sometimes I will watch a tutorial on the SELLING Channels, just to bore myself to sleep.
They bring out the eye liner or mascara and show us how to make our eyes look beautiful..

I watch and wonder if they could make MY eyes look like that., NO is the answer.

One of the sellers uses models 40, 50, 60, 70 and says EVEN a woman of 70 can be beautiful. Have you seen the woman?  Sharp chin, no sags, Big beautiful eyes, lovely hair.. REALLY? Can I come and get you to make ME UP?  if so, I might pay 80 dollars for you make up..

Also, when they show magical shampoo, or hair products, they use older women, young women, short hair, medium hair, LONG hair..... Beautiful women, and he runs his hands through their hair and like magic it falls into place, and don't even ask what the hair products cost...

I have never seen a double chin, small eyed, thin hair woman get that magical touch... Just sayin

I WANT REAL MaGic!  when the products will work on ME!

TOPS Gift

Some of you asked to see the gift I received at TOPS party. These beautiful earrings, were made by an artist in our Group. She paints and creates a jewelry Line.

Funny Story.

18 presents, Large to Small

In the center of the Table 

was a present so small.

Look closely! see that tiny present by the yellow book?

 Nancy looked at me and said this is my first TOPS party, you said bring a small gift to share and I did and now I am embarrassed .We joked and I said something about Look every one, can she stay with a teeny tiny present? There was much laughter.

As the presents were passed, and the game ended. Guess where that teeny present was? In front of ME!

With much laughter, I unwrapped a pill bottle with a beautiful little pink jewelry bag and inside were her custom made earrings.  Great things do come in small packages.

I love them on my crystal bowl,

I love them in my Charlie Brown tree,

and most of all I love them on ME!

Re-wired

Dollar tree re-wired by ME from prior post. It looked so pretty I could not help myself

I took a few days to get myself re-wired by un-plugging from devices?  I got most of the stuff done but not all and I could not go more than 2 days away from the computer...

While on break, the heater BROKE! We woke up on Christmas Eve, the house was 65 degrees, turned on the central heat, ran it for an hour, turned it off and left for the YMCA pool excercises as we do five days a week.
We returned home and stepped in a house that smelled like burning wires, really smelled. While I vented about the house burning down around Big Boy's head, The Man went outside and came back in and said the smell is coming from the HVAC, the heat coils are still on, go touch it. The top to the unit would not let me place my hand on it. Bob starts in the house and says I will turn on the AC and it will cool them down.

I  screamed NO! are you crazy! Flip the breaker on the AC! 

It got LOUD but Nervous Nellie won! 

The Flipping Breaker was Flipped!

I called our AC guy at 8 am on Christmas Eve and left a message that we needed a repair visit but could wait until after Christmas.

The day after Christmas, he called and said he would be out that day.  I said we need to pull those ferns so he can get to the unit..  The man started cooking breakfast. I went out, yanked all the ferns out, made sure he had access.

I came in and said  "I pulled the ferns" its ready for him to work with out ferns in his face.  Bob says where did you put the ferns? I said out at the curb.

He said really loud with eyebrows raised a shocked  "WOW".

You see when forced to do yard work, I always just pile them anywhere convenient and then he moves them to the curb later.  I explained the walk to the curb was EXERCISE, that is how I made myself do it.   The repair was wiring and relay switch, and $229.00 and he was gone in 20 minutes. Just like my MONEY!  Question for you?   would you have flipped the breaker or let him turn on the AC?

Christmas Party PHUN

We had our Tops Christmas party, 18 attended, the food was delish but legal.

we sat 18 present in front of 18 people, and I read a Christmas elf story with a lot of lefts and rights in the story. Each time the word left or right was said, the presents shifted to right or left. Sometimes they went left 3 times. When the story ended with RIGHT there, the present in front of you belonged to you.

Menu was

At our Christmas party for TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) group, the room we use in the church was decorated for their party. Yay for lots of snowmen. they were every where.

Tree Re-Wired

We came home from the Y, at 6:30 AM, as we always do, but this day was different. It was the day of our TOPS Chrismtas party. I needed to gather the party supplies, walk the dog with Bob, and leave the house at 7:45 because I was in charge of setting up the party.

I flipped on the tiny tree, and NOTHINIG HAPPENED! no Lights! I fiddled and turned it off and on and plugged in different outlets to check if it was the outlet or the tree.

Bob grabs the tree out of my hand and sits it on the counter and says

"LET ME SEE IT! I bet it needs a fuse."

I say: "We don't have a fuse, Leave it alone  until I am gone!"

Bob:   "We have fuses, they are in all of the old lights you did not use!"

Me: JUST LEAVE it alone until I am gone, the clock is ticking. Let's walk the dog.."

He continues to fiddle, goes to the garage to get tools to remove fuses, fiddles and fiddles and a few words later,

I say "IF YOU WANT ME TO WALK WITH YOU AND BIG IT HAS TO BE NOW.."

"Why are you yelling?" he says

Me: " I SAID I now have 20 minutes less time to get ready for the party.!!!"

We walk the dog, come home and he stands at the counter, RIGHT WHERE I NEED TO BE, fiddling with the tree.

Again I say "Leave it ALONE until I am gone."

He say: "it will not take long, I broke the fuse holder. I will just cut off the plug from this old set of lights and wire it onto the lights on the tree"

NO!!!!!!!!!!! don't touch IT!"I screamed and I pick up the tree, slam it down on the table where it lives
And I hear he say "What?"

As I race for the door to the garage I say

I do not want the house burned down for 10 dollar tree that has been re-wired. LEAVE IT ALONE! Don't TOUCH it while I am gone. I will fix it when I get home.   I race out the door and hoped I would not come home and find a firetruck in the house.

4 hours later, I return home, get his wire cutters and start to cut off all the wired string of lights.

The Man from Mars says: "WHAT are you doing?"

I did not answer, I just continued to wrap the tiny gold wires of the mini lights, around and around the tree, without removing the ornaments.
The re-wired tree is in the shell above. it looks fine to me!

Grapefruit Tree

Our dead Grapefruit tree continues to fascinate me.. Against gray skies or blue, I love it. Joining LLB in our Backyard for Nature Friday.  We had 20 plus years of Ruby Red Graperuit.

Sweet Memories

This is the ornament I purchased for our first Christmas together. It is ragged and old and not as shiny as it was, Just like us!

I thought while showing a memory from the past, I would share my lack of memory these days!

Each day I step out of bed, rush to the bathroom, go right back to the bed and make it up. I really can't stand to see an unmade bed.

When we came home from the YMCA pool, I turned the corner into the bedroom, and was Shocked to see only 2 pillows on one side, the other 5 were still in the chair. I would have sworn  I made that bed up... How did that happen?  At first I thought Big Boy must have moved those pillows. I have never done that before.

Reaching for the HO HO

49 degrees at 6:45, walking Big Boy, I dressed for success, Christmas leggings, fuzzy socks and my black coat sweater, yes, I wore shoes, but they were to worn/dirty to show....

when I slipped off the shoes, I aimed cell down at my feet, and thought legs look to fat,then I bent from the waist, held the cell for a BLINDSHOT....yelled KINCHEE and the legs were a little thinner.
(Kimchee tells La Phone to take a picture of whatever is in front of the lens.)

You might want to Put this in your memory bank for future reference. IF stripes go around ANY portion of your body, they make that portion look fatter.... Gnome sayin??

Merry and Bright Walkamile

As I passed through the garage, I noticed the shadows on the pool chorine bottles, looked like ART to me...

Since this post is pretty much about nothing, I will share something a teacher told me at TOPS meeting.

I made the comment I always use the word also because I can never remember if it is to or too. She said

Double O means Also!

JUST SO YOU KNOW! and to make this boring post more interesting, 3 days a week, Bob and I swim with a retired, 46 year old Linebacker from Dallas Cowboys!!!
Linda, are you jealous? Bob is a die hard Cowboy fan from their first game many years ago.

Gray Matter, Matters

I read in AARP magazine this month, that anything we have to learn, or study or concentrate on, makes our gray matter (brain) grow new cells. Seems as we age the gray stuff starts to shrink and messes with our cognitive abilities.

I picked the not so good photo below of the berries on the kitchen table as a project to use in Photoshop. I used to be really good with PS but along came PicMonkey and I stopped using it and now have forgotten a lot of what I knew...

Spent about 40 minutes figuring out how to sharpen parts of the pic and frame and use dodge/burn

I will be spending some time several times a week straining the brain.

This month had a lot of good health things in it. Might show up HERE now and again

The article said exercise grows new cells, and housework counts.

I told Bob as I cleaned the sliding glass doors, I am not cleaning, I am growing my gray matter, and I need to work faster, because it is shrinking more each day.

I use my zoom on my camera when I want to see something to far away for the naked eye. I hid on my porch and zoomed in to see those GIANT lightbulbs on the ground. I may have looked at a license plate to see where a strange car was from also....Just so you know, it was Texas. 😎😁

Please tell me what I did that causes the candles to look like different colors. What color do you think the candles are?

The candles are white, non scented. I am allergic to scents. the only difference is the angle I shot from, gold step to left, pink step to right... 

Dog Proof Tree

New plaid fleece throw. Wal-Mart $5.00... not for Big, this one is mine.

My tiny 15 year old tree is dog proof decorated with unbreakable decorations bought at the Dollar Tree. All the ornaments cost a total of $3.00. It sits by the window.

It was necessary when we had 3 dogs, Big Dogs....
So Far Big has not knocked it over and has not even noticed it.

 The lamp that sits there has been downed several times by Big Boy. Anything in front of a window is fair game.
Climbing Santa is a candle climber I have had for 35 years.
Now he climbs the Charlie Brown tree.
