MY Jelly in the sunshine

I gave up sugar 3 years 9 months ago.  I do love PB&J on crackers or toast or biscuits or any thing I should not eat.
I only eat Polaner All Fruit, sweetened with fruit. The jars are tiny, 10 oz and Expensive.

Wal-Mart has been out of it since the 3rd month of PANDEMIC Panic!

We went to Publix to get our Flu shots and they gave me a $10.00 gift card. I walked to the Jelly and got 4, cost was $9.94 .

When I opened the first jar the next day, the lid was not sealed and the jelly was spoiled. I could not find the receipt.
there may have been Words and Mumblings about how stupid I was to toss the receipt.
The good news is, they made a trade for a good jar with no hassle.
It was news to me that
Since the pandemic, Publix has cut back.

Each year we get our flu shots and EACH of us gets a gift card. NOT this year. We only got one per couple
I asked why we did not get the usual already completed and ready to sign flu shot letter. She said we stopped that this year. We had to stop the mailouts

She jabbed us in the arm  and NO Band-Aid.. they cut those out also.

I called this My Jelly because Bob eats Peach or Apricot Preserves with Real Sugar.

Tale of Two Coffees, make that 3

Thursday I opened the Maxwell house can, and made the coffee, it was a new never opened can. Friday AM, I got my coffee and gagged when I took a sip. Bob said, I did not say anything, because I wanted to see what you would say. What did you do to the coffee?

I said who knows, in the past I have
A. made weak coffee with old grounds
B. made coffee with out water
C. made coffee without ground coffee
D. put to many spoon or not enough and even not pushed the auto on button.

I poured out the pot and made another one and CAREFULLY followed All The Steps
GAGGGGGGG! it was not drinkable.
We decide there was something wrong with the coffee.
Bob said they put the grounds they dropped on the floor in the can, I said they added twigs to stretch the grounds OR the coffee beans were rotted?
For years and years we drank Folgers Dark, it got so expensive I changed to Maxwell Dark or Maxwell French dark, and it was fine.
Walmart had NO FOLGERS except light. we hate light. I bought this small Black Silk Dark in 1 pound to see if we like it. the Big one is 3 dollars more than Maxwell.
It's ok but not as expesnive as it is, I also bought WM brand French roast Dark.
will keep trying until we love it.  The thing is due to the PANDEMIC, what I buy one week they don't have the next.
Are you what I call set in your ways about your coffee brand?

Seahorse from the past

UPDATE on Big Boy on Fourpawsetc Here

Seahorse Gift Shop in Palmetto Florida, was a happy place for my mother  and for me when we visited my grandmother. It was there for most of my mothers life and mine. It sat at the foot of the Green bridge, which spans the Manatee River. Bradenton, where I live is on the south of the river and Palmetto is north of the river. I am the only member of our family that lives SOUTH of the river...or ever did..  The shop had free orange juice and papaya juices, sold all the treasrues found in gift shops back then. Mother bought earrings made from shells every time we visited. It was only a few blocks from my Grandmothers home.

The above are vintage shots, I borrowed from the internet, owned by the Palmetto Historical Society.

A few years ago the old bridge was not big enought to contain our trafic, they tore down the shop and build a bigger, better bridge. They turned 1/2 of the old bridge into a fishing bridge. This past week Palmetto added a  beautiful piece of art. Right in the same place the yellow seahorse lived my whole life. We drove Big to see the horse, but the sun did not come out and my photos were not good.

the below are still shots snipped from the Video which is below and can be viewed on Youtube.

A short video by the City of Palmetto. HERE   if you like Art or Seahorses or Both, it is worth the 2.26 minute view. It is an incredible work of art. All of the people that were interviewed were friends with my mother and her family and still are friends with my cousins, who all live in Palmetto

More than a handful

Big Boy is very ill. We went to the vet last night at 5 pm.
He got additional meds. Details are on Fourpawsetc
I will be sporadic over the next few days, both posting and commenting

Heads UP! the avocados are ready to eat, Bob has had three that were delish and we have given about 20 away to people at the YMCA. I used to take a big bag and sit them on the table by the coffe pot. The coffee pot is gone, and we are not allowed to bring things in and leave them, due to the pandemic. I put 2 of these giant sized in a bag, and hand them out to people out side the door, or to people who have said they would like to have them.  One guy took 3 and made a huge batch of guacamole..  the one above weighed 1 and 1/2 lbs.

Memories on Throwback Thursday

Bob brought a package in from the mail box this week, inside was this old photo, The frames says, Some moments we never forget, because our lives are changed forever!

A note from my cousin said, do you remember the old play house daddy built us? Of course I did. She and I were once trapped in there with a LIZARD in the door way, we screamed until someone came to move it....

Think way back to 1949! I am on the left, the tall one, my 1st Cousin Andrea, daughter to my dad's sister, is on the right.. We were 5 that summer, my brother was a year old. I had lived in a one room apartment with my parents, and we needed more room and Daddy was a meat cutter at a local grocery story. I am 4 months older than Andrea.

The 2 story house is Aunt Helens house, the little shed is a Play house Uncle Jimmy built for us to play in. Look just over my shoulder and that is the chicken coop that was remodeled into a 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, 1 closet, kitchen living room house for my family to live in.

Yes it was clean. a box with 4 rooms, and 7 doors. Daddy laid linoleum down on the floors, and on the counters and cabinets they built in the kitchen, The bedroom for my brother and I was 2 feet wider than 2 army cots that fit in the corners. The kind with the old blue striped ticking mattress.

We grew up best friends, more sisters than cousins. We moved to Kentucky when I was 10 but came back next door to Andrea when I was 15, but by that time it was a house Uncle Jimmy built for us, Daddy paid 5,000 dollars, 50 dollars a month for that house that was built in 1952. While we were in KY it was rented out to pay the payments. I lived there until I married in 1963 and Mama and Daddy moved out in 1987 when it was taken by eminent domain and torn down.

OH YAY! Microfiber

I take a nap in the afternoon, by sitting my 10 inch Tablet on the Pillow and watching YouTube cleaning videos, they quickly bore me to sleep and the plus is I learn things.
The one video showed a lady in Amsterdam, cleaning her whole house with a magical cloth.

She used Microfiber Cloths, a tiny spray bottle of water. She cleans walls, TV and Computer screens, mirrors, framed art on the wall, all glass, and even her overstuffed sofa with the cloth,
Spray a couple of spritzes of water and wipe.
WOW~ does it work. Hers were the expensive ones but Wal-Mart had 10 for $9.97 and I bought a package. Bo
Bog is really sick of my demonstrating things i wiped to him. so Now you can see it.
The dusty bottle on right and the wiped one on left.
I wiped all my glass in the nook. I wiped the shelves.
I wiped all the framed photos in the house,
Cleaned all the screens on every thing with a screen.
PLUS it is exercise of a sort.
The best of all, is the 6 oil lamps, are now sparkling with no soap and water and MESS.
Look closely at the lid with dust on the lamp, and you can see where I swiped and left a mark for you.
It works well without water, but better when a few drops.
PS these should not be washed with other things, hand wash with soap and water and hang to dry and uses over and over.....

Happy Birthday Mama

In memory of my mother, Born September 22nd, 1925
Happy 95th Birthday in Heaven!

If I surveyed all the good things that come to me from above
If I count all the blessings from the storehouse of love

I'd simply ask for a favor of him beyond mortal king
And I'm sure that he'd grant it again
I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day
When all our troubles and heartaches are vanished away

Then we'll enjoy the beauty where all things are new
I want to stroll over Heaven with you

Village of the Arts re-visit Ugly Duckling

Some of you remember the Village of the Arts Ugly Duckling above, a year ago. We wondered why it was there, I went back and they had painted it Blue, but still not like the other houses, see them Here is the link to see what the other houses look like in the Artist Village.  Most of them the artist lives and works and sells in these homes.

On Big Boys morning ride, Sept 18th, 2020 We rode down there to get these photos of the finished product. Remember we wondered why that huge blank wall on the side. I found out the art hangs on that wall and this is an Art gallery, posted signs say closed except for online to view and make appts.

Due to the pandemic. The village is struggling like all other small business owners.
This is how the house  looks now

The Name is Jan Lewis Fine Art and HERE is her website..  you can see her Originals HERE and also prints that are available.

New Blogger.. hummm

For those of you on Wordpress, this is a blogger issue. You can fade out now or read on.

When there are problems with Blogger, I go to the forums and I did this with the issue in creating a post that makes the line jump double space and not single space. Above is the email I received from forum. I am typing this and going all the way to the end and it does single space. But if you hit enter here

this is where it goes.... and if you try to do single space hit enter here

it goes here.  ( the issues in new blogger is getting your post to single space where you want it to)

Guess what? I got an email that says if you hit Shift/Enter it will go
HERE.  It does single space.

they do not intend to fix this at this time... Lots of people are fussing... Just climb on board and hit
Shift/enter to single space....

SHIFT KEY and ENTER KEY to single space

Now is your chance to air your griefs  with blogger...😋 I am happy to say, they now have added Search in already published posts on dashboard.

UPDATE after reading Yamini comment,

after you click in the post to start typing, look to your left and see the word paragraph, click on that and change to normal and it will be WELL, NORMAL. so why did they not answer the question on the forum. who knows, we don't.

2n one I used dodge and burn in PicMonkey because I can't find it in Lunapic.
Can you see the difference?

The one of the left, shows Lightning Strikes, we live in the USA lightning capital. It also shows the storms. I can watch the hurricanes on both of these. And tell what the local temp is outside at any moment.

Most of all I am thankful for my eyes that I can see and internet and the skills to use them.

Jars  are Big Boy's Meds and treats.

I check my emails on the tablet also, and talk my answers, which is why you sometime get strange words that make no sense. The tablet is smart but not smart enough to understand my accent.

Avoid Housework at all cost

I will do anything to avoid housework.

While watching Ann of SnapEditScrap tutorial on how to make a fall craft, I saw the words, Had a hard time getting the cell phone to stand up.

I did NOT get up when done viewing and attack the house work.

I emailed Ann not one but 3 times including links to YouTube videos on HOW To DIY standing up your phone. ( just in case she did not know how to search for them)

I spent an hour watching YOUTUBE videos on DIY cellphone holders. I tried the easiest one first. (see above photo)

I even made a video using the phone in cup idea. DELETED IT QUICKLY my voice sounded funny and made another one.

Should have deleted it!

moved on to Prop up the phone using my Laptop....should have deleted it also.

What is wrong with my voice??? To be continued.............

NO creamer for Me

Above is a video in a photo, click on it to play and turn up the sound

Does this bow make me look fat????
Or maybe Stupid???

4 weeks of Big Boy being so sick, created a hole in my heart and stomach.
Each morning for 3 weeks, I could not finish a cup of coffee, I tossed a half cup, each cup I filled.
I NEED coffee when I wake up to MOVE!
I decided to try it without creamer, just Sweet N Low, the pink kind.

I found I  could drink it.
I have wanted to give up the cream/creamer and now I have.

I am working on the sweetener, but I have been drinking it for 48 years.

The video and bubble thingy was NEW in stickers in my phone.
The video is Their Fault, not mine!

They Keep Adding Things!

Yes!

I  know I don't HAVE to look to see if they added new stuff. but they did!

I decided to do what my cup told me to do and
Gopher It!!!

In The Bag, but why?

I have never played dominos or even seen it played, or held a domino in my hand. This past week, Bob came in the front door and tossed this bag on my laptop. It had the domino inside. Seems there is a new Resturant in town.

The name is Table Talk, the online address is HERE  It is 3 minutes from our home. The walls are floor to ceiling book cases full of board games. I think it is a great idea, but right now, in a Pandemic, is not a time to eat and play games that other people have eaten and played with.....

Play, Eat, Talk  just screams spread the virus to me.... I said to Bob, why is there a domino in the bag, what is if for?  He said So they could ride by and throw it out their window in our driveway...

What think ye? any thoughts? My thougts, clever advertising, great idea to play and eat except for the germ factor, The menu looks wonderful and affordable. I hope I can remember it is there AFTER this pandemic is over. Will it ever be over?
