Saint Nick Salt Shaker

My Santa Salt shaker is one of five I kept when I ditched my Santa Collection a few years ago..
I bought him and another salt shaker at an antique store in 1985. the year  I got married.

This past week, I finished my coffee in bed, reached out to sit my cup on the bedside table, sat it
down and the cup turned  over, it flipped into the air and rolled UNDER the MIDDLE of The Bed.
It made a racket, hit the frame of the bed, the leg of the stand.

I got out of bed, went down the hall, and as I left Bob was saying where are you going?

(he did not hear the clanging of the falling cup and did not hear me when I said
I dropped the #@%$$ cup)

I came back with Daddy's walking cane in my hand. He looked shocked and said What Are You Doing?

I said this is the only thing long enough with a hook on the end to reach under the bed.
He said why do you want to reach under the bed?
There is NOTHING like living with the hard of hearing.
The cane Worked and the cup survived.
Unlike the time Bob sat my collectible coffee cup with his coffee in it, on the TRAILER Hitch of the blazer and Drove Off.....the cup was never seen again.
That was also in 1985, the two collectible mugs were a birthday gift from a friend.
That was also in 1985, lest we forget. HA
I raised such a fuss that he kept the other one save until
10 years later when he dropped the matching cup on our tile floor.
Never to be seen again.

Night Lights n The Nook

Instead of removing the warm white lights that have beenon the tree for 3 years, i just put the long white ones around it. You can see the warm white and cool white look bad together.

I just left the warm white on the tree but don't turn them on.
Night shot below.

Thankful Thursday Thanksgiving

Today I am Thankful

It is never too early for the lowly manger and the baby Jesus.

Take heart!
He is able to do all things and cares for
All creatures great and small, his
Name is above all Names
King of everything, King of All
Faith wins the victory
Until the whole world hears
Lead on Oh King Eternal.

Wordy Wed continued nook 3

I played with my cell phone as soon as it got dark,
I was like a MADchild playing in a park.

I snapped lamps and lights
bathed in all that was bright.

I snapped candy dish, deer and a tall shiny cat!
Thinking these are not Christmas, but you know all That.

I snapped an elephant and 2 giraffes,

and  I starts to laughs,

I even started to pull out my hair,

But then I snapped and snapped a bear.

By now I felt better, and thought what do I care?

Tomorrow is Sunday and it will all be There.

I can dig in the closet and pull out the containers

And hope I can finish, with out to many pill painers. (HA HA.. no word came to me)

to be continued and continued and well, YOU KNOW

Saturday Chore continued

The lights were hung, it was 10 am,
2 hours I worked, I AM NEVER doing this again.
I hate it I said,
I must have lost my head.
This is worst ever look
for this dang nook.

I took the tree out of the bag, in which it lives,
I sat it there and said I'll wait until dark, and see what gives.
I ranted and raved and went to bed with a book,
waiting for dark to see how it would look.

Night did fall,
And I stared at it all,
Bob said I love it,
I said in my book, it is NOT a hit.
Tomorrow I will finish and see how I feel
I hope it works, because taking it down is not how I feel.

The Mess I made on Saturday

Can you guess what I did on Saturday morning? Above is your first clue.
Most of you know me and should know what I do.

I always do it on Black Friday, but this is 2020, most things are different that I might do.
I started to do this in way back in 1992,
and every year I whine to you
about What I did and have to do.

I ordered 6 foot wide 9 foot long Drape of Fairy Lights from Amazon
I struggled and fussed and carried ON..
I whined and whined like I had swallowed a bone.

My shoulders hurt, oh  what did I do?
My back is killing me, like you kicked me with your shoe.

I whined out loud, saying, I hate these  lights, and the work it takes,

Linda Chapman could do this becauseshe has all it takes.
She really knows how to decorate,
Her hubby will help her to,
My hubby would not help me, even though he said I do.

Clear Creek Road Memory Flash

I have been a member of Kindle Unlimited on Amazon for more than 3 years.
Unlimited books for 9.99 a month. I read a LOT.
2 or more books per week. I read every day of my life and have since I was 5 years old.

I started a new series, Tracy Crosswhite, by Robert DuGoni.

Book 3, In The Clearing,  page 3 excerpt below

The words Clear Creek Road caused an instant Memory Flash.

I laid the kindle down and walked to my  desktop PC, opened Google Maps and found  Clear Creek Road in Pineville Kentucky.

I lived there with my parents from age 10 to 13. So many happy memories.

With the help of Google Earth I traveled the streets of Pineville looking at all the old buildings and then I went out to the school where my dad went to school and I drove along Clear Creek Road.

I found the place where our house used to be but is no more in his now apartments and I looked at the creek that we used to play in and I looked at the little tributary that my brother used to build damns to catch crawdads, in order to chase me with them.

I came out of a Google Earth Fog one hour later, at 3:30 PM and realized I had forgotten to feed big boy at 3.

An HOUR of my day, disappeared into the past. ..

sometimes when reading, I get up to SEE what they are describing, sometimes they play a song in the book and I come find it by the person they are listening to..
It can be a building, a road, a town, a country that I never heard of... Can anyone relate???
Have you done this?

Backyard on Nature friday

Weed on fence

Pod on Fish Tail Palm

the crotch of the avocado tree.
the little devils continue to knock them down, I place them in this perfect holder and they eat them.
They eat many per day,
Makes me wonder if they get an upset tummy like dogs do if they eat them...
We are pretty sure the tiny paw prints are from possums helping the squirrels to empty the tree.

Ghost of YMCA past!

While waiting on Bob to come out of the YMCA one morning, I noticed my reflection in the windshield and also the lights in the building. I snapped the above and it appeared I got NOTHING.
YES, I did HAPPEN to be PLAYING with the phone while waiting for the worlds slowest shower taker on the planet. We get out of the pool at the same time, get in the shower at the same time,
(note, different locker rooms heh heh heh)
And I have at least 10 minutes to wait on him. Before the dratted Covid-19 I talked to people and had a cup of coffee, now I don my mask and run for the car.

I had time to PLAY with the edit on the phone and found with one click the above and a second click the below.

then, STILL on the phone, I created the below collage, AND uploaded it to blogger
WITH MY PHONE.
Today is Thankful Thursday and I AM thankful for my smart phone!!! also thankful for the YMCA that helps me stay healthy, and for the pool which keeps hubby healthy.

Almost Wordless Wed.

I saw my friends Great Granddaughter with her Papa and could not ignore that hair. It was a fan blowing on the horses in the Florida heat.
I borrowed the pic from FB and took it to Lunapic

Waiting for Eta TS/Hurricane Day, PM

Finally is is AFTERNOON cont from yesterday....

Is it 3 pm yet? can I have my afternoon snack??

I receive text from son that he is tying down the boats at the yacht club,
Mom any update on the storm?

I send him news, warnings, photos of radar
Decide to take a nap, after all it is 12:30 PM

Lay down with my Kindle to read, and just as my eyes are heavy and I start to doze
woooooooooooooo woooooooooo wooooooooooooo woooooooooo
what the heck is that?

I run in the living room and Beau is standing wild eyed like what IS THAT?
WHAT is that?

It is the weather radio
The one I purchased In April, during the Virus Shutdown, when I was battling HUNGER from boredom and purchased it from Amazon for JUST IN CASE.

. It has been sitting on the  sofa side table since then, charging its batteries with light from the window.
Never Used.

I Had how to use, or  what it would or could do.

I picked up the shrieking radio, pushed Band and it went to country music for a split second, and
started to make a different loud noise.
LOUD NOISE
then a loud voice says
Tornados on the ground near your location
WHAT!??
I flip the TV from the dratted political news, to the local weather and
for the rest of the afternoon, we had 6 tornadoes.
6 on the ground, 2 in Sarasota, 4 in Bradenton.
(don't get excited! tornados here are not like the big ones out west, they are fast and quick whirling devils of rain and wind, moving fast and gone)

we had one of them hit our yard and house in Sept of 2001, Gabrielle took down our giant tree and our fence and ripped the facia off the house. it only hit the back yards of 7 houses, that is how they are here. water spouts but scary.

Each time a new one popped up, the radio went off, the TV went off, My cell phone went off and the home phone rang with a warning to take cover.
all saying the same thing.

It was an all day woooooooooooooooooo wooooooooooooo
and between alarms and woooo wooos I snacked!

The Good news is! that is all we got, 7 and 1/2 inches of rain, some wind and a lot of wooo woos!
for that I am thankful,
we lost a dead tree and got a lot of debri in the pool.
and a day that felt like 3 days not one.
Under the heading of good news, I figured out my cell takes panorama photos!

inside the house AND in the car waiting for the garage door to go down...

Am I thankful for the Eta weight gain?
But I am thankful for playtime on the cell phone
