Still Playing with Full Screen

Yes, I am still sitting in my chair playing with the full screen settings for taking photos. This is the view from my chair and covers about 20 feet. I took this and stood up and put my back to the wall and took

this photo. The middle of our home is open from front wall to back wall. It is 17 wide and 35 foot long.
We bought the house because of this. We both love SPACE.
the living area is about 600 sq feet of living space and we have minimal furniture because
We both love Space!
I can't believe the small smartphone in my hand takes the 17 wide with no problem.

I walked to the sliding glass doors and snapped the junk on the counters
I almost did not mention the junk but decided you would zero in on it first thing.
the pill bottle is to remind me to go pick up my RX

This is the view from the kitchen table.
I like the full screen shots with the phone.
on below photo, the dark spot to your right is the front door and the hall that goes to the two bedrooms.
Each morning I come through that dark spot and each time I think, I love this room.
Bob says he does the same. we have 2 nightlights on, and in the low light it doesn't show we need to paint, new carpet, furniture is 20 plus years old.
In bright sunshine during the day, it covers those things as well as nightlights.
Do you have a room in your home that makes you feel good when you step in it?
We are thankful for our home and each other and our precious Beau and all our precious angels, Max, Baby, Cooper, Jake, Big boy.

  1. Your home is really lovely, I loved the tour! And I REALLY like open spaces, they are so airy and freeing!

  2. We didn't zero on the counter - even after you mentioned it. It looks normal. It looks like people with lives live there. It looks like ours and our friends' places. None of us live in show homes or even try to make them look like those sterile places in home decorating magazines. Life adds 'stuff' to even the most carefully curated home.

  7. I did not zero in on the stuff on the counter. I always have stuff sitting on my counter so nothing looked out of place there...lol
That is some wide angle you have there with your cell phone.
I think the two room that I have made the changes in are the two room that make me the happiest.

  10. I love that space, too. I have to say my favorite thing is our big front porch. I miss sitting out there in the winter. I do love having a sewing room, too.

I too love the sense of space. I love my Hutch and each room in it for different reasons. The spare bedroom is comforting and peaceful; my own small bedroom is cosy and cocooning; my lounge is large and spacious and filled with space; my kitchen is cluttered but functional - the bathroom is as bathrooms are! YAM xx

  13. I'm the same way...I love space and really enjoy my home. I like to walk into my bedroom during the day and see how pretty it looks but I also love my big living room. Enjoy your day!

  14. Now we see what YOU see! I think it's wonderful that you and Bob both love the look and feel of your home. Are you still loving your new-to-you chair?

While we had an 'open concept' in our Arizona home, I always preferred separate spaces ... and finally got it. (heh-heh)

  15. So you say you love space!! BOL BOL BOL
All the home shows talk about open concept like it is new.
Like all things that are a good idea they eventually come back.

  16. The moment we walked into our home which was for sale 15 years ago..we knew this was our "Forever" Home.
We haven't regretted one minute of living here....Ranch style, lots of space and a backyard that feels like our secret oasis.
We have STUFF and too much of it but it's ours...trying to sell some of it on eBay (for the sake of our boys and their families)
I really like each room for different reasons. When we were buying this home our 2 young granddaughters each ran to a different bedroom and said this one is mine!! We have called those rooms by the girls names ever since. Love our master bedroom and the way the morning sun streams in through the side window and the vaulted ceiling.
I love that our home is well used...lots of company, lots of celebrations, lots of love in these walls.
Things are worn and we need new carpets, paint and furniture...
Due to financial reversals that's not going to happen in this life time but I thank God every day for our home, where it's located, and what it means to Dave and I in the last season of our lives..Now that's not being gloomy, that's just the way it is for this 78 year old gal and her 80 year old Hubby.
Lots of nostalgia..thanks for the photos of your wonderful home that is "just perfect" for you and Bob.
    Sye

  18. I don't think I ever quite got the overview of your house like this before, it looks like a nice open-plan layout. I like my home too and am grateful for it every day - it's just a rented flat but it suits my needs very well.

  19. I love open spaces as well, but seem to have a way of filling them up. Since repainting last year, I like my whole house a lot better, but stop and enjoy my bedroom almost everytime I walk into it.
