The Only Hibiscus Drought 3

can you find the flower above?

The only little petunia hibiscus in the onion patch back yard,
its beauty hidden until I looked really hard.
Drought has made the bush look ugly, but one small flower is hanging low.
It should be a double bloom, this we know,
the bush should be full of dozens this time of year.
but the rain just will not come, oh dear, oh dear.

put a new app on the iphone. its a collage maker

Before drought the bush bloomed most of the year with these

  1. I must admit that I looked and looked, and could not find it. But once I saw the closeup of it, I went back and found it easily. So pitiful.

  4. Wow, I was looking all over, the middle and at the top. I eventually found almost on the ground. It is a beautiful bloom, we have one in the house from last summer. It is getting blooms on it now too. Take care, have a happy day and a great weekend!

  5. Having read the comments above, I feel quite smug. i found it almost right away. Perhaps that's the result of a lifetime of peering into dense bushes for birds.

I did, eventually. If I'd been less stubborn and read the full post, it might have been a couple minutes quicker! I adore hibiscus and am sad for your lovely bush that it is suffering hard times... YAM xx

  8. I did see it - I think on the bottom of the left side.
I am still in shock that you are in a drought - we are in monsoons! Not really, but we have had a ton of rain this winter.

  9. We are so dry here too. The preserve has dried up and it looks terrible right now. But hopefully those afternoon showers will help when they start again. Happy weekend!

  10. The hibiscus is a gorgeous colour so I noticed the orange flower among the leaves. I'm sorry the drought has caused the tree distress.

  15. Hi Sandra :=) I found it, it's small, but the colour drew me to it, and it's beautiful. It's a great shame it has suffered in the drought. Tell me, is there a ban on watering your garden.

  16. I'm so glad you spotted this little lady before she fades away. (Gosh, I sound like a line from Delta Dawn. lol)
Never fails to amaze me, how delicate they look -- but how hardy, too.

    Com'on rain!

  18. I managed to find it, but I had to look carefully. Poor plant! Droughts suck. 👎

  19. No, I also could not find the lone hibiscus, Sandra, so thanks for showing it. It’s unfortunate that the drought has caused such a lovely plant not to flower. Hopefully, things will get better for the future.

  20. Our hibiscus isn't blooming because of all the rain we have had. It's losing leaves. Hopefully you will get some rain soon.
