| Top right is day care, was Aqua last year |
On my way to the UPS store to return an Amazon package, I saw 3 houses and two daycare buildings that were painted since I last drove past them.
All of them painted in the Newest Trending Colors.

You are nothing if not adventurous. Once I get a setting to work, I leave it alone for fear of screwing it up. I think that when someone coined the word “zany” they had you in mind, and I say that in the most admiring way, dahling!
I looked it up David.

ReplyDelete... I never understood this term 'normal'... I think we only call things with words like zany when they are very different from our own version of it! YAM xx
It's a good word though... Do the observations on fashion colour mean these houses get painted every year?
ReplyDeleteYou saw some might colorful houses my zany friend :)
ReplyDeleteThose colour charts remind me of one of the “great” regrets of my life. Many years ago some bright fellow devised a colour chart for birds, so that observers would all refer to the same tint. So, for example, a certain type of bill colour might be referred to as “horn” and when describing a bird’s appearance you would use that term rather than “light brown”, “tan”, “taupe” or other such approximations, and standardization would thereby be achieved. It was all published in a book with rationale, descriptive passages, illustrations and, of course, the colour chart itself. It was really quite beautiful and some years ago I had a chance to buy a copy and for some reason that I am now unable to understand, didn’t. I have regretted it ever since and have never seen one again.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI love all the colorful houses.
You wear the shoes well!
Your post are fun!
Take care, have a happy day!
Currently the trend (which we don't like) with painting...is painting beautiful brick...The purpose of brick is less maintenance. However painting it gives you double the maintenance and getting paint off the porous brick surface is impossible

Good morning Zany Girl!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ginny, you wear it so well!
In spite of not being able to wear it, yellow may be my favorite color for homes like these. I'm just curious if these homeowners who repaint every year rob banks for a living. Tom liked to have a stroke last night at the price for a gallon of Behr.
I always enjoyed the color of the homes down in Florida. They are so tropical looking.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty interesting about those house being painted in the new colors. That's an interesting comment from David.
ReplyDeleteI do like the trending colors this year...and am proud to be a tad zany myself!
ReplyDeleteLove the new look.
ReplyDeleteHouses around here have a lot of brick so colors don't change very often. I can't believe the price of paint..we need our garage doors painted as well as the back of the house but the cost is too prohibitive for us now.
I do think you don't fit the normal mold..I love your zany spirit!!
Sue
Those houses look pretty nice! Hey, we love Zany here!
ReplyDeleteI must send a picture of my newly painted shed, where at least the door looks like I'm with it when it comes to picking a color. Love the houses you have in your city, they are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love those houses, but I also agree with people talking about the price of paint!
ReplyDeleteA colourful walk for you don't know about the shoes though.
