Define Sparkles...
Physical Effect: To shine brightly with small, quick flashes of light, like sunlight on water or the reflection of a diamond.
Personality: A person who "sparkles" is described as lively, intelligent, and witty.
January 19, I put away all Christmas, but left the tree because its cold and I like sparkles because this is my Florida fireplace.
January Sparkles, from My Nook, it is now Feb and the tree is still there.
Before I got old and memory impaired, the house was full of candles, and I collected from thrift stores candle holders, the long ones , not the fat ones..
I have not used these in about 10 years.
It Feb. and I am Sitting on my sofa, and this is what I see.
The tree is still up, but I did remove the glass balls, now its just a sparkle tree.
But wait, there are more, to be continued

I love your sparkly nook, and the "crystal candleabras". I have a lot of those too, as I always love the tall taper candles on the dinner table. Used to go to those candle parties back in the day, but now I can't abide scented candles so I only use the unscented kind. The tapers are hard to find nowadays. I love the look of your pretty candle holders sparkling in the lights. Hey, remember, it's your house...you can do what you want regarding decorations. You can leave them up as long as you want! My feeling is, if it makes you smile, leave it up. We all need all the "sparkles" we can find during these long winter days where there is no fresh green beauty outside and everything looks dry and dead. Spring will be here soon and then there will be more to smile about outside. Until then, enjoy whatever makes your heart smile!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve those sparkly places in your house. If it helps smooth out the long hours virtually imprisoned due to being the caregiver and doer of everything, do it, I say.
ReplyDeleteSparkles are essential on a dreary day. Your glass candle holders are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I also made the decision to keep the tree up with only the fairy lights on. It helps to cheer up these winter nights. And you've inspired me. I have two little crystal tealight holders that sit on the kitchen shelf - it's time they came down into the lounge and got used! YAM xx
I love sparkles too. I still have a skinny tree up in our dining room. It's not decorated, just has lights and it looks cheery!
ReplyDeleteYou have such beautiful sparkles...and I say leave the tree up all year!!

That is so pretty, Sandra. I happen to love my sparkling crystal bowls, candle holders, all of it and enjoy displaying it in my garden window which receives morning light. Your sparkly display is so you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your prayers for Laydee. She's doing incredibly well and its the warmer temperatures and sunshine that helps. Gloomy cold weather affects our animals too. She got her cart yesterday.

It is like a fairyland! And lots of people around here leave the white lights trees up all winter. It is a cheerful sight to see in the dark. So you should leave your up at least another month!

Nice nook. I'm a sparkly person too. I keep up the small silver tree with white lights all year long. On overcast days I leave it on. Cheers me up to no end. Now I have an electric "snow globe" night light with a little red cardinal image inside in a corner and a string of large green LED lights over the back sliding doors. That's another sparkly.
ReplyDeleteLove ya. ❤️
That's a beautiful view of your sparkles, stunning photos!
ReplyDeleteYou sure do have a lot of sparkly things.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Denise ... these are stunning! There's just something about white light that's mesmerizing. I'm with everyone who says, do whatever brings you pleasure.

ReplyDeleteWe arrived at Bros place near midnight last Monday to find that SiL had left some fairy lights glowing in the back porch so that we could easily find our way to the guesthouse. Who doesn't like fairy lights?
ReplyDeleteI love the sparkles, too-especially this time of year. Sparkle on, my friend. xo xo xo
