Look UP! Stand and Stare

What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare?   W. H. Davies

This is the day that the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 117:24

  1. Perfect song for the verse of the day. Even though its gray and gloomy today, the Lord made it too, so I will praise him.

  2. No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows
No time to see, when woods we pass
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass
No time to see, in broad daylight
Streams full of stars, like skies at night
No time to turn at beauty's glance
And watch her feet, how they can dance
No time to wait till her mouth can
enrich the smile her eyes began
A poor life this is if full of care
We have no time to stand and stare

  3. I love your photo. I have a photo that I took down at Ringling too that is one of my favorites.

I love your bit of history over at Bonnie's place about the Yankees and the field peas. They didn't know what they were missing, did they. Maybe that's why they are so improtant to Southerners.

  5. What a pretty shot with those clouds- nice angle as well.. and its so fresh too! This is the kind which would look good in sepia or mono! I struggle with that when the sky is this blue! Hey, that was so nice Genny included the rest- beautiful:)

  8. Gorgeous photo, those are some very interesting building. My problem is sometimes I spend too much time staring up and forget what's around my feet but both views are always interesting.

Hope you and Bob had a great holiday weekend.

  10. That poem is very suitable for the day. I once had this poem for the comprehension in my exam so I am very familiar to it.
    Have a good day

  11. I think you can get a crick in your neck from looking up ALL the time AND from looking down ALL the time... balance is the key.

Yesterday we had a lovely rainy day... just what we usually have in winter. It was 60... now at noon it is only 37. The cold is back but the snow and most of the ice is gone. Perhaps I can get my tulips in the ground... late again as always.
