Did you guess?

Me and our beloved dog Max, deceased 2002. Photo scanned, taken  in the olden days of FILM 1984
Did you guess what is hanging on the pole in Shadow Shot Sunday post yesterday? Above is what used to hang on the pole, many moons ago. Not Me silly! the swing my great grandfather built for the front porch. Since we have no porch, Bob had to get creative.
This wonderful Staghorn Fern (some might call it Elkhorn fern) resides on the pole Bob built for the long deceased swing. Seems the swing needed shelter from the Florida humidity.

Those are the coolest ferns, I wish they would grow outside here. Great close ups of the fronds.

  2. That was a tricky one, a swing. Now the staghorns have a swing instead. Nice close ups of the fern's details. It is a beauty.

  10. Oh, that is wonderful...after I looked closer I thought it might be the ends of the ropes I was seeing that didn't look like much weight...but still, I would never have imagined this.

  15. You and Max look a great pair together..It is so sad to loose a beloved pet, yet Max had a long life because he was well loved.
Staghorns are amazing. I owned one only once although they are seen in our rainforest's.I used to feed mine fruit and vegetable scraps.
