Macro Monday @ the preserve

The paths in Robinson Preserve are lined with these yellow flowers, I am not sure if the flowers close and make these pods or if the pods make the flowers. but they sure were beautiful.

UPDATE...Peanut Recall, added 500 products. CHECK HERE

UPDATE from Mamabug comment. these plants are called Rattlebox and these are Shake Shake and are on the Florida invasive plants.... so not desirable, but they are pretty

So much beauty, so little time

  4. Hi Sandra
We both woke up grumpy this morning, but I have just played your song and it has got me thinking....
What a lovely song and yes, there is beauty in the world but too much media bad news does its best to get us all down.
Just what I needed to get me out of grumpy mood
    thanks, thanks, thanks.

But! Since they are down-deep and of teeny-tiny-bits... I want to call them "MICRO" shots. -sigh-

  9. your beautiful yellow flowers are called Rattlebox and those are the seed pods. don't handle the seeds inside as they are poisonous.

  10. -chuckle- Don't have any idea what that "green thing" is, hanging above that porch, in town! :-)

We'll have to take another swing by and get a closer look!!! A fun challenge! :-)

  12. Cool pictures. The first one seems familiar but cannot name it.

The grasses were amazing. It's wonderful how one word, grasses, can cover so many beautiful species.

  13. Love that name...rattleboxes.
Too bad they are invasive and the innards are poisonous.
Thanks for the video clip too.

  15. Looks like you had some great light atthe preserve. Those yellow flowers...I have no idea what they are but they remind me of sweet peas that bloom here in the spring. But those are usually shades of blue and purple.

  16. Hey! Just catching up after 9-day travels and have to say your latest Autumn header gave me a laugh. Mad Snapper right up there with the "punkin' heads"!

And the Bible verse is a fav of mine.

Unfortunately, those invasive species, even the pretty ones, can take over and crowd out native plants and animals.
