The skate park is one blog from the hospital and I was afraid the man above would need it because he fell a dozen times and if you click on the photo, you can see he has his tongue out and it was out every time he got on the skate board.
There were young and old, male and female, skate boards, bike, scooters and ME sitting on the bench snapping.
What a nice park! That poor one guy....I clicked to enlarge that last photo. He needs a mom to tell him, "You could break you neck doing this!"
ReplyDeleteA helmet would be a good idea for that last guy, he doesn't look all that coordinated. That looks like a pretty big park, I'm guessing it's a popular spot.

Skater's paradise, I suppose. Myself I would not set my foot on one of those things even if someone offered me a huge sum of money for it ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful park. And what great excercise if you are into that kind of thing. I clicked on the pics and that made it even seem more real. Some people in our town tried to work toward getting one of those parks in our town but it never got off the ground.

ReplyDeleteNice!! And I love photos with repetition in them - like those steel-reinforced concrete beams and the posts. And the trees! It looks like there are supports on either side of them. Is that right?

Wow,that is quite the skatepark.We have a small skatepark just across the street from me.I am pleased to say that the people who hang out there sen to be well behaved.So far I have seen only one ambulance there.
ReplyDeleteCool bunch of pics! Looks like a really nice skate park. I wouldn't know about such things however since it has probably been 40 years since I've been on one. That guy with the tongue out better be careful. But it's a good thing all this is close to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteTongue out. Isn't it funny how we do involuntary things, when we are concentrating? He probably couldn't keep his balance, if you told him he had to keep his mouth tightly shut. :-))))

ReplyDeleteI have just finished catching up on all your river walk posts. It is a fantatsic area for outdoor entertainment and so close to downtown which we call CBD (central Business District). I can see where all the money went. Those outdoor living rooms are super. All the different seats and those hundreds of trees planted when they are so big needing supports which makes them look like they have legs in some of the photos. I love the shot of you relaxing with rubies at your feet. The area is similar to our South Bank Parklands. Part of our River Walk got washed away in the floods there has been controversy over the cost of replacing it. We have a new premier who is trying to save money to pay our debts .

A few years back my son was really into skateboarding and rollerblading. Then it was bmx and dirt bikes and now cars!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice park! Where is everyone's helmets?!We have a small outdoor park here in the city and you have to pay and then there is Vans skatepark in the mall and you pay a
pretty penny there as well.
I love all the pics - but especially the 1st shot down the belly of the bridge, and I LOVE the faces. The man on the bicycle in pic 8 is pure joy. Awesome! I tried rollerblading in the 80s - Tim Conway rode his tricycle better! LOL!

what a nice park. It's amazing what some people can do on skates, skateboards and bikes and then with others it's just plain scary watching them.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that these young people have somewhere as good as this to skateboard and cycle. I like your capture of the expressions on the skateboarders' faces - especially photo 7. Some of those tricks look rather dangerous - hands in pockets and no helmet.
