Kitchen Adventures Post 3

Serving bowl
I think these might be Indiana Diamond Point but not sure.

NOTE: did you know that dishes like these get really dirty shut up inside a kitchen cabinet? what's up with that? they haven't been used in years, they should be clean....

The best time to plan a book is while your are doing the dishes... Agatha Christie

Above and below are the edges of the divided relish tray. All of these dishes I have been showing belonged to my grandmother. When she died my Mother brought them home, then when Mother died, I brought them here..

I Googled until I had a head ache trying to find this tray, close but no bananas... if you want to see just how many they made during the depression, CLICK HERE.

  2. Beautiful dishes!! I remember this Indiana Diamond Point, we used to have it. But I would have to look through lots more boxes. Wonder how much lead they have?

  3. It is TRUE!!! Shut up in a cabinet, they get sticky with dirt. Also my skinny clothes in the closet have dust all over the shoulders!!!

  10. What lovely photos of such special pieces. WalMart sells Invisible Glass that is great for spraying down into the grooves you can't reach with a cloth.

  11. I have the same glassware as in your first and last photo. I didn't know they had a name but will check it out. They are from my grandmother (maybe even her mother) as well. I also have a small collection of pink and some green depression glass. Oh yes, I have a tale I could tell about things getting dirty in cabinets!! Later, maybe.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  12. GREAT kitchen adventure!

    Love those points of reflection!

Stuff still gets dirty, shut up in kitchen cabinets...??? Guess some of the cooking vapors, get into the cabinets... And dust is everywhere... And vapors allow dust, to adhere.

  19. Very pretty pieces. And I am so with you - how in the world do things get dusty like that - or in a closed glass cabinet. Where does it come from?

  21. Oh, my mother had some of those Indiana Diamond point little dishes! I didn't know that's what they were, and they are long gone now. We could only keep so much stuff, and she had A LOT OF STUFF! So sadly, the estate sale people either sold it all or someone got some great deals. I love your photos of these. Perfect!!!! Again, here I am, back from the future!!
