this is my grandmothers plate, I have two of these. I wish all my depression was the same color.
My mother always told me If wishes were horses all beggars would ride..... she meant wish on...
I priced this plate on line at 34.00. Now when I need a gallon of milk in the near future I can sell it and get two gallons.
Wait! this is not a dish!!! but it is in my Kitchen and was in the way of the snapping camera.
I just LOVE what sunshine does to any and everything.....

ReplyDeleteI had a bad experience with iOffer. Many years ago in Denver I got to be an extra in a movie they were filming downtown. I've looked everywhere for a dvd of that and finally found one at iOffer. I sent the seller a money order and she kept the money and never sent the video. What a sweetie! I contacted the company and reported her and by the time I had done that, they had kicked her off their site and blacklisted her. Which was great except I never got my money back. Little brat.

ReplyDeleteI found a beautiful pink depression bowl and snatched it for $1.50! Priced about the same as yours online. At least we both can get a little milk.

ReplyDeleteWho can say they never have anything, to snap a pic of? If there is not true sunshine, doing magic... There is the 'light shadow' from electric lights... Or the variations of color, produced by the Natural world...

ReplyDeleteI had never seen a yellow depression glass before. That would have looked great with my lemon cookies on it, Sandra! It is absolutely beautiful. So glad you showed us.
Speaking of prices, I bought a QUART of paint last night. Over $15.00. The last time I bought a GALLON of paint, it was $23.00. And they say there's no inflation?? Good grief, it wasn't that long ago that a gallon of good paint was $16.00.
The Depression glass is so pretty. Lucky you to have a few pieces. I really like the shadow shot!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful plate! Beth told me her parents owned an antique store when she grew up so she saw many of these beautiful older plates and many other cool things. Your pics are amazing....you have quite the eye for finding just the right way to snap really good ones!

the dish brought back a 'whoosh' of memory to my mom. she had a pinkish tinted one similar to that. wish i had it. hope one of my sisters does...

ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, We have those plates ...12 of them . They were my paternal Grandmothers. I have passed those onto my daughter and she loves them. They have 12 dessert plates, too.We are missing a couple of coffee cups, too. I was surprised when I saw your photos this morning. I used to know the pattern name but have forgotten. But I know they are getting to be very expensive.I am glad you had a photo of them this morning. Brought back memories of them all at my Grandma's.
ReplyDeleteI have several plates and cups in depression glass. Most are in green and a few in pink. Love the yellow or vasilene color. Wish I had more.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that when we moved I packed a lot of that kind of thing away and it is still in boxes in our garage. Somehow I just can't get into cluttering up my hutch with all the knick knacks again. I do miss seeing them though.

Very cool plant shadow, but I love the golden plate!!! And forget about all matchy matchy!! Shabby chic is totally cool, beautiful pieces all unmatched. Each different and it's own wonder to look at. Like Fiesta Ware can be different colors, not just one.
