More January blooms, hibiscus love our winters. This is a hybrid double orange and for some reason, it has two different type flowers that appear. this is the first time they appeared on the same stem...
Below photo was taken the day after the photo above. Photos taken January 7 and 8, 2013
So delicate and pretty. Wishing you a nice day.
ReplyDeleteI have a bush out front of those. I pulled up and killed another one last year. They're not my favorite flower. But at certain times of the year here, they can be very pretty.
ReplyDeleteA mutant hibiscus. Watch out!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy week Sandra! Enjoy your pretty flowers!

I love these pale orange hibiscus. You have an assorted bouquet right there for the plucking!
ReplyDeleteKnow what? I think your photos, make them prettier, than they actually are.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely Aunty Sandra. I have missed you :-) Is all well down Florida way? Mum read something about python hunting there last week?!! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteWonderful color. We need some tropical flowers in our dreary weather up here.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! We have trouble keeping those going in our yard....you may have to come up and help us out! Then we can play football too....I'm just sayin'....
ReplyDeleteawesome photos...no blooms around here...too cold...we woke up in the 20's today...had a little sleet..ice fall in places...it sleeted yesterday morning...
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, those are beautiful! I love that delicate color. Beautiful pics all!

ReplyDeleteSo tender and lovely. I'm glad you snapped that one. It is beautiful! How are you?
ReplyDeleteYour hibiscus is beautiful, as are your photos. I really like the two different colors of the blossoms.
ReplyDeleteIt is almost like you are in a different world. Flowers in January!
ReplyDeleteThat is fascinating that both are on the same stem.
ReplyDeleteSuch beauties.
The picture of the hibiscus on my blog was taken in Southern California in December.
They wouldn't do well here in Northern Cal. this week.
We have been waking up to temperatures around 23F. and hard frost.
In fact it was so cold that moisture in front of the side doors at church never melted and when church was to begin at 4:15PM Saturday afternoon, they couldn't let anyone go in those doors, too dangerous. We had guys out there with blow torches melting the ice.
During this special weekend of 6 services we had 17,000 people on campus. Couldn't have any of them slipping and getting hurt.
Ahhhhh....Sunny California!!
Clever how one blooms, then the next starts to come out on this hybrid and they look like unidentical twins. Pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteThat seems unusual to have two colours on one plant, but very pretty. It's like having a small bouquet right there.
ReplyDeleteHibiscus blooms are pretty no matter what condition they are in....My favorite out of today's photos is the next to the last one. It's fabulous...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Hibiscus grew everywhere in our Los Angeles neighborhood, but I never saw any as glorious as these.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty and I love the one with the two different flowers on the same stem
ReplyDeleteWoof! Woof! Hibiscus here is year round. Mom is just amazed how BIG (she means BIG) they can grow. On guys in our subdivision got the largest and colorful hibiscus. Always makes us smile when we go for a walk. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful and beautifully photographed!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty...they almost look like they are made of paper.
ReplyDeleteThey're so soft looking! They look a lot more delicate than my red ones. Wonderful photos, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing that the two colors are sharing the same stem. The colors blend together beautifully. I don't think hibiscus would like the winters here, we dropped down to 19 last night.
ReplyDeleteSo striking! How many different hibiscus colors do you have in the Bob and MadSnapper Tropical Botanical Wonderland?
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing yet another gorgeous series of photos.
ReplyDeletepurely splendid!
those photos are breathtakingly beautiful!!
Your yard and my yard are about opposites - I need Bob here to help me grow things!
