I love pelicans because they are ugly cute, so is this wood stork... Ugly but cute and definitely not an Angry Bird.... I took these in 2007 at Bray Park in a drainage ditch. this is in the same park hubby flies in every day.
It was quite a show that morning, with the ditch full of Ibis, Egrets and Storks... Otters live here to but I have only seen them once and it was to dark to get a photo.
Click to enlarge and see the beauty of the ditch water.
Storks are ugly, but they bring our babies. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots- I like the reflection shot of the wing span...very cool!
ReplyDeleteOH! Those gorgeous reflections!!!!
ReplyDeleteOoooo I like that first photo cuz the feet are so very cool and I might add beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Those reflection photos are wonderful!!!!! Are those the same kind of storks that bring babies?
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
I love the reflections! And the shot of the feet is great!
ReplyDeletei was really lucky to see one wood stork here, years ago. it stopped by for a few days one winter. such cool birds!
ReplyDeleteMad Snapper you captured very lovely pictures..well after that first one of the feet..and I thought my toes were ugly!! That bird needs some brogans to hide those toes. LOL

Sandra, these are awesome pictures. The Stork may be less than cute, but still great to see.
ReplyDeleteThe reflection photos are beautiful! And the first picture with the feet made me laugh :)
ReplyDeleteLove these photos, Sandra. The wing span reflection is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove to see the storks playing around with their reflections...did they leave off any babies???
ReplyDeleteHugs, sandie
Hi Sandra, I love all of those birds ---but seldom see them. (Maybe that's why I love seeing them in photos.)
ReplyDeleteLove the reflections you captured in many of those photos.
Hugs,
Betsy
Amazingly beautiful reflections, birds and water. You are fortunate to have this beauty so close.
ReplyDeleteA WOOD STORK!!!! I have never ever seen a real one at all, and not up close in pictures. NOW I CAN!! Awesome!!! And I love the reflections, especially the one with the wings spread, fabulous!!! Wonderful, I LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty photos, especially the reflection shots. A great place for Bob to fly and you to photograph.
ReplyDeleteFascinating birds. Great photos Sandra. I love the first one with the pink feet in the water.
ReplyDeleteI love your birds....great shots...
ReplyDeletethey are pretty ugly birds but unique as well
ReplyDeleteBIG...VERY BIG...I'd hat like heck to piss one off!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of ugly birds. No that is not true. They are cute. "Your husband flies in the ditch" I think I need an explanation. Does he sprout wings and join the birds? Does he fly fish? Does he fly model planes?
ReplyDeleteI *LOVE* the reflections! Ummmm... "hubby flies in every day"??? Sandra, you've got some 'splainin' to do. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree that this stork is ugly cute. You got some great pictures of the birds in the drainage ditch.
ReplyDeleteNot the most handsome of birds in a close up but from a distance they are quite nice looking. I love all those reflections.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, you've captured them very well. And I like the reflections in the water.
ReplyDeletewow, fantastic captures and reflections, sandra! you have outdone yourself this week.
ReplyDeletei always love seeing your birds.
the wing span reflection is great too.
Fascinating birds in all their different poses.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing these shots! I like the one of the bird's legs and feet and, of course, the other close-up of his patterned head.
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile so I'm missing our egrets... Looking forward to the changes... spring excitement ! Great captures!
ReplyDeleteAm loving your bird show but not the ditch water!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so pretty! Love the colors in the water! I took pics of some storks down by the airport in a big ditch. Hubby and I didn't know what they were, now we know. They are kinda strange looking, right? Their white and black feathers are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIbis are also in these parts at the Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge where I took some shots several years ago in warmer weather. They never struck me as "pretty" birds so I stuck to taking photos of other birds I liked better - great blue herons and snow egrets. The only flamingos around these parts are at the zoos.
ReplyDeleteHello, I love all these birds. The wood storks are a favorite but I also love the egrets and ibis. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you shared this link and post again.
Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!
Aren't the legs and feet of the Wood Stork beautiful! Have never noticed this before i saw your first photo. Lovely reflections, and captures of all these great birds.
