Much Ado About Nothing... AGAIN

Are you aware that you can buy GOURMET LOLLIPOPS?  2 for a 1.00? I kid you not, there they were in the aisle at Wal-Mart. Anyone remember when a lolly pop was a PENNY?

If you follow me on a daily basis, you will remember this little catsup bottle. It now contains Olive Oil.

Why you ask? Because the lid on this bottle of olive oil, pops up when opened and has to be squished down when closing and the dratted thing leaks oil all over the outside of the lid and bottle. this is The Worst Lid I have ever tried to use.  Bob fussed so much about it I decided to use the little bottle until I can throw this one a way and never buy one again.

  1. Olive oil can make such a slippery mess. MOM once dropped a whole bottle on the kitchen floor. Now that took a long time to get all cleaned up. And when she thought she did I ran into the kitchen and slid across the floor. Hahhaha It was fun though.

  2. Woof! Woof! Mom only gets lollipop in the bank and she says they taste awful. She'll suggest this brand to them. Happy Tuesday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  3. Don't try to close that lid. It's designed to keep air out of the bottle and make it easy to pour. I have a similar "spout" that I just pop in each new bottle of olive oil. No drips!

    Bonnie

  4. At least the lollipops were made in the USA. :)
I remember your cute little bottle...glad you put it to good use.:)

  5. I'm glad you identified that first bottle - I thought it was some sort of 'specimen' you took to the doctor's office or something. ANYWAY, my pet peeve bottles are salad dressings. Why don't they have a tiny hole in the top so you can drizzle the dressing on, instead of pouring it on?? (of course, the answer is obvious, but it still really annoys me!)

  7. I just realized that we always used to call them suckers in my neck of the western states. I haven't had one in such a long time that I have no idea if anyone does anymore.

  8. I always enjoy your WM posts, I never know what you will find, or your comment on it. HEY, how about doing Wal-Mart Wednesdays, and show the weekly thing from there and your comments on it. Something you hate, or love, or think is just plain crazy. You have got me saving glass bottles now, of all kinds. None with a lid YET. I MIGHT spring for a buck, try the suckers, and do a review on a continuation of this post. I don't go to WM as often as you, but like to stop in for their bakery french bread, it is awesome!!! Are your eyes O.K.?

  9. Some of these container lids drive me crazy as well. I especially despise the ones that leak. Did you try a gourmet lollipop?

  12. Anything that has olive oil on it - for me - no matter the top - will always leave a ring of oil on the counter. Why is that? sandie

  13. Do the lollipops last an hour or does the price 2 for $1 last an hour? Inquiring minds want to know. Yeah, bad lids are pretty annoying.

  14. I reuse many containers.

My low sodium home made salad dressing rests in a pop bottle. Works great.

Great post...now we know NOT to buy this oil. Contact the company.

  15. Slippery oil, I hate it.
Glad they found the boys body but so very sad. It seems everywhere one turns there is sorrow.
That's why I enjoy visiting your blog.
It's upbeat and a bit off the wall.
    Have a great day Sandra.

  17. I do remember penny candy and how it was a treat to pick out 25 cents worth. The peanut free part surprised me, I didn't know there was any kind of peanuts or peanut oil in lollipops.

  19. Delightful to see your little catsup bottle once again. Do industrial designers ever try out their designs before flooding the market. Poor design like that lid is like those misfortunate incorrect word choices in self-published Kibdle books.

    Non-lethat but SOOOOOO aggravating!

  21. A good idea ,,,,anything to lessen aggravation. They make everything gourmet this day and age...I prefer original. :)

  23. I remember penny candy too, it seems so long ago. I have seen those gourmet lollipops in stores but never bought one.

I'm still giggling over Goose's comment about slipping and sliding on the kitchen floor. A leaky cooking oil bottle is the worst. That little bottle came in handy.
