Garden of Eden? or Gilligan's Island

Stop Laughing! it is a suit not a tent..

Some of you have commented on what a beautiful yard we must have.

WELL! Now You know!! .. we are either the Beverly Hillbillies or Green Acres.. or BOTH... when I told bob about this post he said it is more like Gilligan's Island... and for one time only HE IS RIGHT.

I decided to bare my soul and let you see the Swing AKA drying rack..

by 7 Early Am sun hits it and by 10 AM all is dry... we need a new swing but this one still swings.... soooooo

Below is what I WOULD/SHOULD have shown and you would STILL think I live in the Garden of Eden... Close Up matters... OH YES

If you are from another country OR have never heard of Gilligan's Island, see video below.

  1. I think you have a "real people" back yard. I totally agree that close up matters. I move in close on a lot of my shots to block out what some things around here really look like.
I don't have a swing any more but we still have the frame from it and I use it to hang wet pool towels on

  2. Looks good to me. You are very lucky to have a handy dandy drying rack so close.

  3. MOM says that multi use things are the best. Swing/drying rack sounds and looks fine to her.

  5. Pretty suit. Great drying rack. Hey, we use what's there.

Loved "Gulligan's Island"! Oh the precious old shows!!!

  6. I agree with Goose, we love multi-use items. Gilligans Island was a childhood fav!! The lagoon shots were filmed on Kauai, going to have to explore and find the spot.

  7. THANK YOU for appreciating my Header pic, of one of our Adirondack Chairs. Husband made them, years ago. He's made them for the kids too.

They are the REAL thing. :-) Made out of cedar, and they simply age outdoors. Very old fashioned looking. I love the look tooooo!

I was out in the back yard, snapping some pics. Thought that little grouping looked pretty. Again, very old-fashioned looking. Nothing shown is neatly clipped or just-so. Very soothing and old fashioned. :-)

  8. Comfortable is what it looks like - and I like your swimsuit. I've heard lots of references to Gilligan's Island in other American TV series but we never got it on TV here so I've always wondered... Thanks for the video clip :)

  13. Looks like a fun place to me! Yes I remember Gilligan well. I even remember him in a sit com before Gilligan but I can't recall the name of it.

  14. Sandra, you just make me smile.
Your yard is comfortable and I really like that you "live" there. That's the way it should be.
    Pretty suit too.
I got your email finally and I will be writing to you a bit later. Thanks so much. I hadn't gone back to some earlier posts so it went unnoticed for a few days...(:0)

  16. The only thing I see is your swing pole with suit and towel drying, like you would expect at the side of a pool. Still need more proof! I am not humming "Come and listen to my story 'bout a man maned Jed" YET...

  24. Hi! We seem to have a few mutual friends, and I understand that we are almost neighbors! I live in Lakeland, and just met Sandie (Chatty Crone) in person last week! She told me about you and suggested I touch base. I enjoyed your post (and we have similar bathing suits!). It will be fun getting to know you! Terri (Your Friend From Florida).

  26. What do you mean 'one time only'? He married you, didn't he? So he's been right at least twice!

  27. Looks like just the right place to live.

  30. You are a funny girl! I would love a backyard pool. But in Saskatchewan we'ld only be able to use it for about three months of the year! Haha!
Hope you are having a happy weekend!

  31. Funny how we perceive things, huh? And I think your suit is lovely!

  32. Hey, I like your clothes dryer. Uses a lot less energy than what I use. Bravo for you. I am not ready yet to post photos of our backyard!

  33. I think your swing looks much like the eliptical machine that is in our bedroom. Makes a better clothes hanger. lol. I could have used a dip in that pool today...hot and humid here in New England!

  34. What do you mean to say that a swing is NOT a drying rack as well, Sandra? Thanks for the Gilligan's island intro, Grenville sang the theme song while I watched it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love it! I would do the same. :) Keep it real!!! :)

  36. Hey practical is always best. If the swing was all shiny and new you might not want to use it as a drying rack. I love your close up of the flower. And by the way, the theme song to Gilligan's Island is now solidly stuck in my brain.

  37. Your suit is nice. I do not own one LOL and hey...I think you are creative and resourceful repurposing the swing. :)
