I love old oil lamps and lanterns and the museum has many. Do you have antique oil lamps? I have 5 of them, but no lanterns like these.

Oh I love these. I have one oil lantern and I have always wanted a light, but never have found the perfect one.

You are interesting in your posts. Are those trains yours? Pretty little pieces , aren't they? I love things like that. We have a couple of old lanterns....we gave our best one to my sister-in-law many years ago.
ReplyDeleteVery cool pics! I have a couple of old oil lamps but no lanterns. Well, we do have a Coleman lantern, but it's not an antique. I've only used the lanterns a couple of times when the electricity was out. They sure do make me appreciate just flipping a switch for light!
ReplyDeleteI have and antiques kerosene lantern, but the globe is newer. And somewhere, I have a railroader's signal lantern. Have I told you that Roger's grandpa was an engineer for 25 years! He died before I met Roger...

I love the little tiny trains, they are my favorite today. The two in the collage that are on top of the coffee cup, one says Orient Express, LOVE!

ReplyDeleteI like those trains. We have a big replica lamp with glass funnel and copper base, but it's wired for electric and several replica lamps hanging in the yard that you put a tea light in.
ReplyDeleteIn Italy we have a gas cylinder fired lamp for emergencies. I would really like to own some of those antique ones.
We have a couple of oil lamps for emergencies. We used to have an old rairoad lamp but decided to sell it to an antiques dealer. ;) We still have too much stuff. lol

ReplyDeleteWe have two oil lamps, one is missing the globe. Somewhere tucked away in a closet is an old lantern. You have made me want to find it now.
Now, I KNOW we will be taking a southern road trip and stopping at this RR museum, Sandra, especially after I send Grenville a link to this post. He collects RR lanterns (a few).

ReplyDeleteWe acquired a few from my MIL but I'm afraid they have remained packed away in the garage since we moved to this house. I'm trying to be more of a minimalist since moving here...therefore a jammed full garage. So I guess I am really not a minimalist after all. (:0)
