Fence Festooned with Finery

This week I found our front gate festooned with finery... Yes, it IS a WEED... and I love it. Baby was at the gate barking, I walked up to shut her up, and there it was, covered in tiny little yellow flowers.

I ran walked fast for the camera and came back and said to Bob
"Come see this amazing weed" his reply
"It is one of those weeds that stinks and takes over"

MadSnapper replies.. "do NOT touch that weed until I tell you to.
and I spent 3 days SNAPPING..

Don't fret.... there is MORE TO COME... this weed has something I have never seen before, it has its very own ORNAMENTS

...to be continued.

  5. I LOVE the weed....er FLOWER, and the last picture is stunning!!! I love the way it was folded up, and in the fourth picture it looks like a seashell! I hope you can find out what it is...it is a vine of some kind.

  9. Even the most undesirable, can produce beautiful fruit. (Isn't that deep?)

  10. Did snipping follow snapping, Sandra. The flower reminded me of some sort of primrose, which would open in sunlight and die by night. If yours survives cutting, maybe you can learn it's name.

  11. I know you love yellow flowers so whatever this one is I'm sure it's welcome in your yard. That last photo is so pretty with the textured petals with frilly edges. It looks almost unreal like one of those silk flowers that's worn on a lapel.

  15. I'm always baffled by weeds. Some of them are really lovely, so who labelled them weeds?

  16. The flowers are beautiful. Why is it that weeds have such pretty flowers and such bad habits?

  17. I like it when weeds are this beautiful! I really like its leaves, even.

  18. Well, it is certainly a lot prettier than a dandelion.

  19. I like this weed. Some of the prettiest flowers I've seen were weeds, including spiderwort, which we encouraged to grow in our back yard. It doesn't anymore, though. :(

  22. I'm usually not a fan of weeds, but I will admit that you got some great pictures of the yellow flowers. I can hardly wait to see what you have planned for your next post.

  23. For a weed this sure is pretty, of course weeds usually are. That yellow flower is too beautiful to be on a weed however. Can't wait to see the ornaments.
