Historical Village - Courthouse Windows


This courthouse was built in 1859-1860 and is Florida's oldest surviving courthouse that was originally built as a courthouse.
It was moved to Manatee Historical Village in 1976 and is on the
U.S. National Register of Historic Places


Our county was the home of Native Americans for thousands of years and became a county in 1855

Bradenton was settled in 1842 and incorporated in 1903.

    I love this. Sure doesn't look like todays courthouses. Those windows are big as the door!

    What a calm looking place and all the moss hanging from the trees. Reminds me of Savannah.

    For me, the best thing abut this is your wonderful window reflections!! This is also the prettiest courthouse I have ever seen!!! None of that huge dark stone or brick with an imposing statue of Lady Liberty looming above.

    I love old buildings like this one and all the history that surrounds them. It makes me happy to see it being preserved and taken care of along with the others in the village.
