Tree Art - Beachside

Above photo as it came out of the camera, I took several shots like this to play with, blowing out the color by setting the shutter speed at different speeds. I found 1/160 took must of the color and detail out, so took half a dozen on that setting.

Above is after I edited it a little in Photo Shop, and below I changed it to Black and White...and played with the black and white until I liked it.

I do love these dead trees, to me they are works of art just as they are.

  1. I really love trees of all kinds, especially in silhouette at night.
These photo's are beautiful Sandra, you're right they are natures works of art.

  2. These turned out really great. The last one looks just like a drawing.

  3. Black and white is really suited to these trees and converting to a line drawing would also be fun, Sandra. Picassa has this option under special EFX.

  10. I too am still learning this camera, its amazing all it can do and there is so much more to learn. Great captures of the driftwood. I wish I could be there to just touch the wood, too bad you cant take some home with you.

  18. As I've said before, I like your pictures of the tree skeletons as they come right out of the camera. But your edits are truly beautiful -- thanks for sharing them with us.

  21. The treatment on the first one looks like a watercolor painting. It would look pretty matted and hung.

  22. Love the trees, they are works of art but what you did to your pictures are also works of art. I never would have thought to play with the settings that way. That last one is fabulous, looks like a pencil drawing

  27. Well done, but my favorite of your digital art manipulations were the framed tomato plant and bloom photos that appeared on, I think, your kitchen wall in an earlier post. They were so striking and dramatic!

  28. They may be dead, but I think it is beautiful! I would like to have a piece in my house.

  29. While I love the fauna in the pictures I:'m drawn into them because of the water. Water always gets my attention and I have no idea why.
