Waiting for daylight Shot of my candle holder stem above
I spent two weeks home alone from 5 to 6:30 because of surgery while Hubby went to the YMCA without me.. I say this to say that is the cause of all my weird post this week.
Have you ever noticed how much alike all of our different languages are?
English
Spanish
Swedish
Bosnian
I chose these because I have blogger friends that are in countries that use these.
I have found through blogger friends around the world, our countries look very much alike and the people are all alike, but speak different languages.
I LOVE IT.
I decided to do this post because when I visited Our Photos in the Netherlands, I realized I could read a lot of the words without knowing the language.

I have the Translation Gadget on my blog sidebar, and I think everyone should. I love visits from and visits to other countries.
Pretty photo. Yes, you and I share some of the same blog friends from other countries. It is quite thrilling to have friends from places I'll never get to see in person.

It must have been maddening for you to be confined while recovering, Sandra. Hope all is better for you now that surgery is over. When I restyle our blog, I will need to add a translate widget as well.

ReplyDeleteGreat photo :) Languages has always fascinated me. Switching between Swedish & English on a daily basis...but sometimes my brain goes blank haha! And it becomes SwEnglish...Remember a few times I've been talking to my supervisor (in Swedish) and the look on her face...very open....she didn't have a clue what I was talking about...then I realise bugger...I am speaking Swedish to her and started laughing.

ReplyDeleteSandra, You always have something very interesting going on. My granddaughter, Tori, is in her third year of Spanish. One day I was watching her do homework and I was reading the Spanish in English. She looked at me and thought her Grandma was pretty smart. But so many languages are so similar. glad you are meeting people from other countries.

Fire Fire Fire Fire!!!! There are fiery flames in the candle holder stem, simply beautiful. You are RIGHT about the languages, I have noticed that COMMENT looks very similar everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI too have noticed that I can read some of the other languages. I have someone who comments on my posts and I can understand enough to know what he is saying. That's kinda cool.

I have been thinking I need to put the translator on my blogs...haven't done it yet. But it has been on my mind off and on for a while.

ReplyDeleteThere's a local woman that I've been thinking about asking her to give the Renegades and I Spanish lessons. I took Spanish in college and yeah I didn't seem to retain it at all.

ReplyDeleteIt is so much fun to read blogs from other countries. It also helps me with my Spanish, I can speak some and read a little more so I look first then turn on the translator to se4e how bad I messed up. LOL!
I agree with Mildred~ it is exciting to "meet" people from places far, far away! Neat photo, too! (And try to stay outta trouble... *giggle*)
