Sunday around Noonish.. I saw the sun shining on the Papaya Plant Peeking over the fence. Grabbed the long lens on the Rebel, shot the above and thought Phooey. to bright. Turning to go in the house I spied the sun shining on the Palmetto Palm
and THERE HE WAS.. a madly flitting Zebra longwing butterfly. To fast to focus. I put the camera on sport mode and held down the button firing off 67 photos in 30 seconds.
and I did get a few good ones of him, deleted all but these to share. Florida sunshine and butterflies in October. Do you still have butterflies this time of the year in your area?
How beautiful! You got some great shots. Hope you enjoy your day.

Oh, he is a beauty. Funny thing, had not seen a butterfly in ages, then Sunday evening while outside with Lorelei, I don't know how many we seen.
ReplyDeleteyes, thankfully we do. buckeyes, black swallowtails, sulphurs, and even some monarchs this year!
ReplyDeleteSandra, yes I have seen butterflies still around here but mostly yellow and white sulphers. The swallowtails and monarchs seem to be long gone now even though our temps are not yet cold.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, elegant butterfly... No, the butterflies were gone from here long before yesterday's storm... Some fly south, others go into hibernation until spring, and some I think lay their eggs and the eggs or caterpillars hibernate.
ReplyDeleteI've got a few shots of this butterfly. Great post and I love your header
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! No butterflies here by now,its just too cold for them.
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! These photos are crystal clear!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I see them better than I would with my glasses. I don't think I have ever seen one. We do have butterflies here. Have a good night. sandie
ReplyDeleteoh it's so pretty. Good job capturing him. I can't recall seeing a single butterfly all summer long here.
ReplyDeleteYou are too much, that butterfly capture is something else. I just signed up about 10 blogs on bloglovin and so far I can see it will be a lot faster than the way I did it before. I'll let you know if I will be lovin it.....or not.
