Remember When....

you might be old....if car hops and trays on the side of the car are things you remember well.

and if you remember BIG steering wheels, well....you have to be OLD...

A man went in the garage and said to the mechanic,"Have you got a wiper blade for my car?"

the mechanic looked out the door and said "OK, sounds like a fair deal"

My wife phoned me and said "I've got water in the carburetor"  I was suitably impressed and said "OK, where's the car?" She replied "in the river."

I was in out in my Austin Healey the other morning when my boss rang up and told me "You've been promoted". And with that I swerved.
And then he rang up a second time and said "You've been promoted again".
And I swerved again. He rang up a third time and said, "Now ... you're managing director".
And I drove into a tree. Then a policeman came up and humorously asked, "What happened to you?"
And I said, "I've careered off the road".

  4. Gosh aren't they just so fabulous! We have one under the house in our basement. Ray has fixed it all up and it only has less than 29,000 miles on it. They take you back to being young again.

  10. We don't have Sonic up here, but I sure do remember going to the A&W drive-in after Sunday night church services and getting that frosty mug of rootbeer - or maybe a banana popsicle. And I remember the car and the fuzzy dice. Oh yikes, this gives away way too much information! Fun post. :-)

  24. No to remembering car hops only because i never went to anyplace that had any, including Sonic now. We also go to as many car shows as we can when we are near one.

  25. Sandra when I was younger I had a red Ford Torino Convertible with a white rood. And my dad had my name Sandy - painted on the side and I hated it. He did it without telling me - come to think of it that is when I changed the way I spelled my name to Sandie!

  30. I am in heaven with all these red beauties. It's the old muscle cars that of the 60s that I really love but anything in red. I used to have a '65 Ford that looked a lot like the black top Malibu in your photo. I loved that car.

  32. Awesome looking cars. We didn't get to one single car show this year.
I do remember car hops. When I was little there was an Elby's Big Boy that used them. I always thought it was so cool

  34. Oh, yes I am old and remember all this well. I had a few of those cars with the big steering wheel. Loved them! We still have Sonic here and they car hop wearing skates. I was a car hop when I was 17 but not at Sonic. I loved roller skating though. The funnies made me laugh, especially the one with the water in the carburetor. Hugs!
