Not My Circus, Not My Monkey's

I found this Idiom or Quote on Facebook and used my color book to create this
It is way to hot to go outside with my camera soooooo

Idioms It Is today

Once in a Blue Moon I come up with a real doozy of  a post.
A little Google research and I decided to eighty six the  post, but then I thought why not post it, I will just talk about everything but the kitchen sink  and since every cloud has a silver lining you might all just believe this cock and bull story.

I am betting you all have a gut feeling that I am going for broke and way out on limb with this post.

If you don't like the post, you can get over it ,  and

come find me at the funny farm.

Great minds think alike...

I hope some of you will be

On the same page.

Elvis has left the building.

The 2 that I use several times a week and some times daily are
Beat a dead horse  when the news goes over and over and over something
and up the creek without a paddle.... I say those at least 5 to 10 times a month or more.

What do you think not my circus not my monkey's means?

Do you have a favorite you use over and over?

  1. I am familiar with the majority of these but had not heard the circus/monkey one. I'm guessing "not my problem!"

    Love your "art work."

  2. I also think that it reefers to something not being someones problem.

  3. I recently heard "not my circus, not my monkeys" but I can't remember where. I would say it means it's not my problem.
I truly love this post and I'm sure it's because great minds think alike :)
Two that I use a lot are "piece of cake" and "back seat driver"

  4. I forget when I first heard that but I immediately adopted it into my speech. I love it. I read somewhere that it was a Polish saying.

  8. I do love 'not my circus, not my monkeys,' meaning, no way am I going to be dragged into this issue. :-) A friend and I once had fun mixing idioms (start with one and end with the other). Fun post.

  9. I've heard of a few of those too. You're just too funny. I'm posting today and commenting, for my one day of the week blogging session. Been going thru hundreds of photos I took over at the Nat'l Bison Range recently. Hope you stop by.

  10. I'm not familiar with the circus and monkey quote either, but I enjoy all of your quotes today. Thanks Sandra! Hot today? We have the windows open and there is a lovely cool breeze coming through. I am sure it will heat up later but I'm enjoying it now. Have a good one :)

  11. Maybe it means the same thing as
"I don't have a dog in this fight"!
    AKA none of my concern.
My dad has so many crazy sayings...and at least once a day one of them pops out of my mouth.
One of his favorites when asked how he was:
"Fine as wine, twice on the ball, no windows, no doors, just a hole in the wall". No clue where that came from either or what it means.

  14. These made my day and made me smile. I thought how my Mom used to say she would give the house a "lick and a promise" if she didn't have the time or energy to clean the house really well.
"Up a creek without a paddle" is a saying I used a lot..."sweet dreams, sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite....
Oh my there are so many and lots of times I really haven't a clue what they mean but they seem to fit the situation.
Thanks for the great post today. Stay "cool as a cucumber" today.

  23. I've never heard that one before but I vote for "not my problem". My favorite one lately is "cute as a bug in a rug" but then I've been hanging out at the shelter with the kittens and puppies a lot lately.
