Pelicans Oh My

September 22, 2007 at 7:12 AM, daybreak, flocks of pelicans lifted off and island and came to the Anna Maria Pier for breakfast. Diane and I read about the phenomena in the paper and watched in Amazement. The most amazing part we could not get pictures because of the darkness.

There were also hundreds of Seagulls.

  2. My favorite bird is the snowy egret, Sandra. And, i am not sure why, except that it's fun to watch when it hunts for food and the yellow feet make me smile...crazy.
By the way, I also smiled when you described your dish collection in a comment on Mona's newest dish buy.

  18. I have only seen one or two wayward pelicans. Never that many. Always reminds me of the verse my dad would say. A funny bird is a pelican it's beak can hold more than its bellycan I don't know how in the hellitcan.

  19. It looks like the gulls might have been a little intimidated by the pelicans. I love watching pelicans, they remind me of prehistoric creatures. You got some great shots of those guys!

  20. I am missing the beach. Thought I might get to make a trip down to one but, alas, it doesn't look promising! I will content myself with looking at your photos! I may have to visit some of your older posts to get my 'sea fix!'
