  4. Yes, how is Baby? I don't call them weeds. I call them native plants.

  7. Happy Fence day.. We love Eeyore at this house so whatever he says is gospel truth. My sis is a big Winnie the Pooh fan. Mom told me when sis was little she did (and still does) a fantastic Eeyore impersonation. BUUUUUTTTTTT if you ever meet Sis don't tell her I told you.

  9. OMW Sandra, those are such interesting images of the chain links. If I had a close-up of the old fence I showed in my post, it would be exactly like yours. I love the idea of Baby Girl looking through those triangles to the Mail Man and telling him off!

  11. We should start a campaign, "weeds are flowers too"! We don;t have a real problem with weeds here in Missouri, but that awful crab grass is everywhere! It is impossible to kill, pull, or spray! It lives on! Oh, and dandelions too! Love your photos, thank you for sharing views of your world!

  12. Love that quote! Similar to mine today. I like fences that are covered with vines and stuff. How's the doggie doing?

  13. I love polk and will let it grow if it comes up! And Virginia creeper is beautiful in the fall...at least it is here.

  14. I asked a local nursery owner if she knew of native plants for our area that are ground cover. She spit out, "Weeds."

  15. Well it might be a "weed magnet" but let me just say you've captured some wonderful weeds here. The lighting in these shots was delightful. I really enjoyed them.

  16. LOVE the second picture!!! But what about Jake, does he LIKE the mailman? Only Baby barks at him? Are the dogs fenced up from the mailbox? I sense another post may be needed...OH WOW, I LOVE your dog's eye view of the street!!! Tell baby she takes pretty good pictures. That is the coolest!! Maybe my new favorite, I can just see her sitting there waiting...does she know what time he comes?

  19. Weeds and especially prickly brier vines just seem to love fencing. I've been out every morning trying to cut some of it off of our front fence..and have scrapes, puncture wounds, and cuts to show for my efforts. I think the weeds are winning. Baby Girl is a grand watch dog I am sure!
    Have a great weekend!

  23. Hi Sandra,
Thanks for the comment on my blog.
My Dad had written on the back of the photo June 1948 so I don't know if he was was having a senior moment or not. All I can go by is what was written.
I do think it was a Pontiac. I see the head on the front.

  24. Love your fence pictures. Those fences are doing what they are supposed to do... keeping the vines at bay.

  25. Howdy Sandra,
Oh your BABY has the life of watching the activity passing by your house. I was wondering if your dogs ever eat stuff outside, like weeds or plants? You are so sweet to respond, I see you are still going strong with your blog. I am truly shocked you would see me posting again. Giving it another whirl.

  28. not only is it a weed magnet but it's a gold mine of photographic material :)

  29. Sometimes vines can serve a good purpose. Yours are and looks nice.

  30. I have to agree with you, but after a while, the weeds tend to look good where they are :)

  31. Baby Girl is smart, she is behind the plants...good cover for supervising the goings on in the street. Great shots as always sweet Sandra. If it were not for the weeds our fence catches there would not be many flowers around here. Hugs!

  32. Nice fences.
And, we totally need 'em baby boys and girls. I agree!

    Peace :)

  33. Only YOU can make a chainlink fence and weeds beautiful! You are amazing with that camera of yours......

  34. Our small section of chain-link is the same, and I agree with Eeyore! Morning glories entwine themselves around it, but when they die in winter, it's hard to get rid of the vines.

  35. That is one of my favorite quotes from Winnie the Pooh. Eeyore is so wise. You've got some really pretty weeds. I have figure out that any place I can't use my weed eater or I have to crawl through shrubbery to reach is where the weeds are the happiest.
