The Lunch, the Cake and the Cactus

The Birthday Cake I Baked
What? you say nothing is there? You Got IT!

I baked exactly 2 birthday cakes in my lifetime, both in 1977

My blog friend in Bosnia, Mersad Donko Photography... requested I share the birthday cake I baked  see above....

Sept 4th pods preparing to present my present of 13 Night blooming Cactus against  Bright Blue Sunny Skies.

Sept 5th of 2007 I received 40 blooms and that was the most ever to bloom in one day

my present to myself,  was NO COOKING Monday through Friday

I chose Golden Corral for my birthday lunch the contents of which are a secret I will take to my grave.
I will share my Dessert was a brownie with ice cream on top for dessert..
Mersad, I purchased ONE piece of birthday cake AND  I ate it for Breakfast today...

  7. MOL MOL MOL a black cake...only MS could think of that....
One of mom's favorite Bill Cosby routines is when he defends himself to his wife for serving the kids cake for breakfast....after all there is milk and eggs in cake..so of course it is breakfast food

  8. I recognize that cake, it is from Wal-Mart!! I know this because I used to buy them. If I eat sweets now, it is only for breakfast! That is the smartest way to do it. I will usually have milk with it for the healthy part and so I will be able to make it to dinner. Those are really good pictures of the blooms considering how very high they are.

  12. You go girl! We like to celebrate what we call the birthday week! lol Simply because they usually don't fall on a weekend and we don't go out to eat on weeknights. We usually do a little road trip with our birthdays also and make an entire day of it. I cook special food for the kids throughout the week for their birthdays also.

Glad that you got to have your special day the way that you wanted it! That is the way it should be! I've been known to eat cake for breakfast a time or two! hehehe

  25. We start each family member's BD with cake served for first day snack along with some gifts and cards.
Having a week of no cooking seems a great idea.
