Here's my story... I was on Facebook, I saw a photo I liked, I clicked on it and it said view with Facebook and I clicked and all of a Sudden I am on Pinterest.. Quite by Accident. Within 60 seconds, I received emails from 4 bloggers and 2 cousins on Pinterest wanting me to follow them.
Follow them to what and what for? I thought it was a place people posted pics they liked.
I did not even KNOW I signed up or what it IS.... Now I know because Pinterest starting sending me emails, 3 the first day and several the next day telling me How to redecorate my home on Pinterest and Another thing I can do is Renovate my home...
Really? will they send me the funds to redecorate?
All of this is to say, I will NOT be using Pinterest... how do I get rid of it?

And reading this post, Sandra, affirms to me WHY I am not on either Facebook or Pinterest. I not want to be contacted for things that do not interest me. Good luck with the PM competitionš

Funny, you are stuck now! I am on Pinterest and Picmonkey too. And receive various emails from them.. But not the ones for renovating..If they are giving away money for home improvements that sounds great.. Have a happy Monday!

ReplyDeleteYeah, I totally don't get the whole 'follow' thing on Pinterest. I joined Pinterest because it was an online bulletin board for me. I could pin things I saw on other blogs and especially liked. I almost never use it to try to find things, but just as a place to pin what I happen to come across. I also joined Flickr years ago for the same reason. Now when I happen to go back there, I see that I've got emails from people who've wanted to use my photos. It's hard to get rid of anything one stumbles across by accident. LOL But now I suppose I'll have to check into that contest!

Yup! I looked at a recipe the other day, and now recieve e-mails almost daily with "Pins" I might like. What I'd like is a junk-free in-box!!
ReplyDeleteI love Pinterest, you can find awesome recipes, glorious pictures and crafts, and all kinds of goodies. I have belonged fr years, and never gotten these kind of e-mails. You must have clicked on one heck of a super duper button!! BUT maybe you will win these contests, and all by accident. You never know. I don't know how to un-sign because I never tried.

ReplyDeleteI sort of got onto Pinterest in the same way but I love to pin. It got me hooked with all the recipes and I love the vintage clothing, and the animals and oh so much more. You should see my folders, or not ;) Hahahaha! I do delete all their mails though.

ReplyDeleteGrief, Sandra!!! I don't go to face book other than to wish my kids a happy birthday and sometimes not even then. I am on pinterest but cannot figure out how it works so seldom go. I did go to look for WALLPAPER because I needed a few idea's...and..I saw tons of it I loved..AND then realized that it did me NO good at all because it's just a place to look..not buy or find out WHERE to buy! Phooey on Pinterist!! They only show you WHO they pinned the photo from, not where to buy..or seldom. They just say.."cute" or something like that.

Well I certainly hope you are going to enter. I don't do Pinterest much because it overwhelms me with ideas. I do love to see how clever other people are though.

ReplyDeleteWell, I am a pinterest addict! You should follow me! roflol At first I didn't understand the following thing, but once I started following some I realized that if I follow like say a recipe board of someone's every time they pin a recipe it will show up on my news feed for me to see if I would want to pin it also. Pinterest is where I go to find the craft ideas that I do with my son's class. I like it because it is a place for me to store the many ideas that I have at once place without having the clutter in the house! lol
