There are three of these plants that appeared in my Wildflower Planter. This one has had a bud for 2 weeks. It just will not bloom. I am leaning towards coneflower but really have no clue. I watch it all day every day... could that be the problem? Can anyone ID this for me? Waiting for the bloom...

ReplyDeleteWell, I was rather thinking along the lines of sunflower, I admit... YAM xx
It looks like it might be a black-eyed Susan.
ReplyDeleteI love the precious photo of Jake with the sunflower.

Good morning, I have waited a long time for a bloom to open. it seemed like too long. It looks like a sunflower. I like the shot of Jake and the sunflower. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI am clueless about the bloomless posie.
ReplyDeleteBut one thing for sure JAKE makes me smile.
As for the deck at the mall. We do park on the lower deck every morning same spot. That deck doesn't bother me at all. The mall has been there since 1971 and I've been parking in it for years. I know my way around. Now a deck I've never been in is a different story.

That image of Jake with the sunflower is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about your unknown flower. We have coneflowers in a meadow near us. I'll look at their leaves today to see if they're like your unknown plant's leaves.
Happy Sunday!
Love the image of Jake and the sunflower. One thing about gardening is that you get some surprises when a strange plant eventually produces a bud and then bursts into flower. I'm sure whatever yours is it'll be lovely.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love Jake and the Sunflower.
ReplyDeletethey brightened my morning.
Sorry I haven't a clue what your BUD is.
Can't wait to see how it all turns out.
With the 'fuzzy' ...it looks like a sunflower of some sort?
ReplyDeleteLOVE the sunny dispisition of Jake this morning.
Hey Sandra...commenting from My Mind's eye to see what comes up here.

She has a delightful blog! I love that unusual looking donkey in the tulips, and the laughing one! I did give her a comment, she would be fun to follow. I cannot WAIT to see what your flower is!! This is such fun!! Sunflower Jake is just perfect, a work of Mad Art!
ReplyDeleteAt the very least, it looks like it will be a yellow flower.I'm leaning toward Black-eyed Susan.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Inger's post too. And your dog and sunflower pic is a winner!
ReplyDeleteWaiting and waiting … it's the worst!!!
ReplyDeleteInger's donkeys are quite the characters, aren't they. But not nearly as cute as Sir Jake.
Jake is precious. I, of course have no idea what kind of flower that is. Maybe that is the blooms. Just saying.....
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending people over to see the donkeys. They however have nothing on my Samson all clean and snowy white. Will post in a few days.
I checked out the coneflowers in our meadow, and they have a very different type of leaf than your plant. I think that rules out coneflower. Maybe a sunflower?
ReplyDeleteThe bud does resemble a sunflower but the leaves don't seem right. Maybe the one comment that said black-eyed Susan was right
ReplyDeleteI would also lean towards a black eyed susan....I do love your Jakey Sunflower!!
ReplyDeleteWell by now you must be aware that the popular vote for your flower is a Black-Eyed Susan (which I have in my garden) so that's my vote too. Nice pic of Jake and the Sunflower.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great graphic of sweet Jake and the sunflower. I have no idea what the plant is but will be anxious to see the bloom when the bud opens up. I love donkey's so will go check out them out. Hugs and give Jake nose kisses for us.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it is but looks forward to seeing it when it opens.
