Tongue out Tuesday


NOT the tongues you thought by the title. I found these on my walking route this week.. I typed Tongue Trivia in google... here you go
I found this sight with 20 interesting tongue facts... READ here if you care to

the ones that caught my attention..
1. there are 10,000 tastebuds in our mouth, 8000 of those are on the tongue.
2. Tongue prints are like fingerprints. Unique to each person
3. The tongue can sense taste of sour, sweet, bitter, salty, but not if the mouth is dry, without saliva the tastes is not there....

    Very interesting! Is this a Snake Plant (Mother-In Law's Tongue)? I have never seen one growing wild!! I have had both real and artificial ones. I just took one off the end table today.

    I have never seen one growing wild!! !!
    This is an indoor plant in the Netherlands, and we call her "mother-in law's tongue"! Weird name!

    We call those 'Mother-in-laws tongue' they are quite expensive to buy in our garden centres, they wouldn't last long on the roadside over here. lol

    They are not one of my favorite plants, looks like they are using it for a border. Interesting facts about the tongue. Wishing you a happy day!

    They are a hardy plant. We call them mother-in-law plant ('cause they're hard to get rid of).

    This doesn't sound correct to say, but #2 is most interesting.

    I never heard of anything tongue besides our own and that flap under shoe laces! This was a cute article. I recall hearing about the 4 zones on our tongues -- but that's so crazy about not discerning a lemon when it's dry. Imagine going to Tibet and having everyone sticking his/her tongue out at you? Like to give the unsuspecting tourist an inferiority complex. Ha!

    Don't have time to go look now, but want to after while. I can see that without the saliva there being no taste. I know different areas of the tongue taste different things, too. But forget what the areas are.

    I remember the different areas of the tongue from School Science and when one has a cold the taste is certainly gone.
    I didn't know that the tongue prints are like fingerprints...how did "they" figure that one out??

    I did not know the tongue was like fingerprints - each person having their own unique print. Interesting. I do know the tongue is strong enough to break bones and hearts.

    Really! I had no idea about the uniqueness of my tongue. I do know that Scripture warns about its potential nastiness. And I didn't know about the saliva thing. Interesting. And LOVE the plants!! I've not been here or any other blog for so long! You're skinny!! :-)) I don't mean that in a bad way. You're looking good. xo I might take ONE magnet off my refrig today just in honor of you. LOL

    Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving some kind words. My grandmother had a plant like this in a pot--she called it a "Snake Plant." If one of the leaves got broken, it left an unsightly scar, as I remember.

    Thats great information!! I didn't know that our tongues have their own tongue print, now I know thanks to your research. I guess it only makes sense that we can't taste if the mouth is dry I just never thought about it before. BTW, I like how you always change up your header.
